TNA's Aces & Eights group were well-represented at Marlins Park last Saturday night, August 24 for "Legends of Wrestling Night." I was able to speak to Mike Knox ("Knux") and Wes Brisco about a variety of topics.

Wes Brisco, who grew up in the business with his father, Gerald, and his uncle, Jack, noted that he wants to make his own mark in the business. "I try to take my own path. I respect my dad and my uncle and what they've done, but I'm trying to create my own path," he said.

Brisco also credited Kurt Angle with helping him improve as a wrestler during his time in TNA. "I've been wrestling the best in the world, Kurt Angle, one of the top guys in the world. Being tied to his hip, I've learned so much. My dad and my uncle have taught me a lot, too," he said.

Knox and Brisco were both asked whether they preferred wrestling as part of a tag-team (of which both have a lot of experience), or as singles wrestlers. Both, perhaps surprisingly, chose wrestling as part of a tag team.

"I think tag team wrestling is a lost art," said Knox. "I've been a tag team coming up through until I made my debut in WWE. They split us up and put me on TV and sent my partner home. I've always gravitated toward tag team wrestling...when you do it right, it's a beautiful thing."

Brisco agreed. "I love tags," said Brisco. "In WWE Developmental, me and Xavier Woods were tag team champions for FCW, so I've always been in tags and I love it."

Speaking about Bully Ray's ascension in TNA, Brisco also gave credit to Ray's former tag partner, Devon, and said both are breaking away and showing what they have to offer as singles wrestlers.

"I've been a fan of Devon and Bubba since I was in high school," said Knox. "To see Bubba Ray evolve up to World Champion, the height of what everyone hopes to achieve, it gives us hope."

Brisco and Knox mostly stayed in character during the interview, closing with a few choice words about Chris Sabin and his "fluke" title reign. "He (Sabin) just proved that on any given night, a miracle can take place," said Knox.

"Looks who's champ now," said Brisco.
