-- National newspapers The New York Post and the Los Angeles Times covered yesterday's death of former WWE wrestler Lance Cade.

The Post reports it will take 8-12 weeks for the cause of death to be determined. Cade died on Friday morning in San Antonio, Tex. due to reported "heart failure." The Bexar County Medical Examiner will release results when the cause is determined.

-- From a political perspective, TheHill.com, an influential political news outlet, reported on how Cade's death could affect former WWE CEO Linda McMahon's political campaign.

McMahon won the Republican nomination in Connecticut's U.S. Senate race earlier this week. The Hill examined comments made by the executive director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (the party opposing McMahon) that Cade's death "could affect McMahon's campaign."

The report cites McMahon's comments on ABC's "Good Morning America" this week downplaying the issue of wrestler health concerns by placing it under the umbrella of concerns over TV content. "We can talk about WWE until tomorrow. They (voters) are concerned about the issues of the day," McMahon claimed. "They're not concerned about soap-opera storylines."

Cade, 29 at the time of his death, was with WWE throughout the 2000s when WWE had and did not have a Wellness Policy. After being released in October 2008, he was re-hired in late 2009 before being released by WWE in April 2010.

"His death so close to his departure from the WWE could rekindle the debate about how the company treats its wrestlers," The Hill reports.

Caldwell's Analysis: The general election isn't until November and McMahon has shown to be resilient to concerns over whether WWE could have done more to protect the health of its wrestlers under her watch. However, if more events such as the death of 29-year-old wrestler who was in the company as recently as four months ago continue to add up, it will likely reach voters. They'll have more information on front of them to make a decision on whether McMahon is the type of Senator to represent them in Congress.
