Kevin Sowers

Kevin G. Sowers writes "Jobber Jabber" for the Lounge on Sundays. He also coordinates the "Lounge Conversation" PPV previews and the "Torch Power Rankings" and covers WWE PPVs with detailed "alternative perspective" reports. He began writing for PWTorch.com in the fall of 2003 covering the now defunct Major League Wrestling TV show on Sunshine Network. Sowers, born in 1971, now lives in Jacksonville, Fla. after having grown up in Northern Virginia. "I started watching back in the late '70s, following Tony Atlas, Bob Backlund, and Andre The Giant in the then WWWF," he says. "I had no choice in the matter, as every Saturday morning at 11 a.m., my stepfather watched religiously, and I became hooked." He attended his first wrestling event in 1982 when the WWF came to his local high school gym. "My all-time favorite moment on TV, has to be Unforgiven 2001. Fresh off of the tragic 9/11, Kurt Angle made a bloody Stone Cold tap out to capture his second WWF World Championship," he says. "The aftermath was surreal, and even The Rock came out to ringside to congratulate the new champion." Does he prefer Great Matches, Great Angles, or Great Interviews? "Great angles," he says, also noting he prefers a traditional style match to a highspot-fest.
