WWE Live show results
August 8, 2015
Sydney, Australia
Report by Nick Perry, PWTorch correspondent

The show opened with R-Truth on the screen saying Sydney was the place to be.

Ring announcer Jo-Jo came out and told us that John Cena was missing in action and refunds would be given in the next 20 minutes.

Triple H appeared on the screen and introduced Shawn Michaels as guest GM. Michaels came out and announced the main event would be a steel cage.

(1) NXT champion Finn Balor beat Neville to retain the NXT Title. Good match. Both came out to a similar reaction, but Finn played the heel throughout the match. The crowd was into both for the last few minutes. Finn offered a post-match handshake. Great match. Finn really looks like a star!

(2) Luke Harper beat R-Truth. Truth is strangely over even though he doesn't feature much on TV. Luke was fun in the live house show setting, but didn't generate too much heat. Fun match!

(3) Fandango beat Adam Rose in the battle of the dance theme songs. Nothing to the match. Fandango won in five minutes.

(4) Randy Orton beat King Barrett. The last time I went to a live show, The Miz was the unsung hero. This time Bad News took that crown (no pun intended). He worked the crowd extremely well and took a few digs at Australia, which got the crowd right against him. Good, fun match. Randy seemed to be enjoying himself and won with an RKO. He even threw in a superplex on a live show.

(Intermission)

Bo Dallas came out after the intermission and tried to "inspire" us all. He received Sweet Chin Music from Michaels for his troubles. The crowd ate this segment up.

(5) Emma & Natalya beat The Bella Twins (Divas champion Nikki & Brie Bella). The Bella Twins came out to a huge reaction, but the crowd quickly shifted when hometown girl Emma came out. Standard match with Emma being beat down and getting the hot tag to Natalya. The match broke down and Emma ended up winning with a cross-body.

(6) Cesaro beat Kevin Owens. Both came out to huge reactions. This was a Smackdown-level match with lots of big moves including the Big Swing, which the crowd loved, and Kevin's top-rope suplex counter, which the crowd also lapped up. Cesaro won the the Neutraliser.

(7) WWE World Hvt. champion Seth Rollins beat Dean Ambrose in a steel cage match to retain the WWE World Hvt. Title. The match started slow, but picked up with a few near escapes over the top and through the door. It was match of the night, for sure. The crowd was a bit tired, but really woke up towards the end of the match. Seth won after hitting the Pedigree and escaping through the door.

Post-match, Seth came back and said he wouldn't stop until Dean couldn't walk, but Dean countered with Dirty Deeds. He closed on the mic saying they would be back to "rock and roll, baby."

Also during the show, they showed the Roddy Piper Tribute Video and also a Connor the Crusher tribute. Both were very well done and well received. There were lots of plugs for the Network, too. Overall, the best house show I've seen in Sydney, as everyone seemed to be having fun in the ring and the match quality was very high.

Top Cheers:

(1) Dean Ambrose
(2) Randy Orton
(3) Cesaro
(4) Finn/Neville

Most Heat:

(1) King Barrett
(2) Seth Rollins
(3) Kevin Owens (very mixed reaction; lots of cheers for Kevin)
(4) The Bellas (after beating down Emma)
