ECW house show
July 1, 2006
Belle Vernon, Pa. at Rostraver Ice Garden
Report by Craig Schwickrath, PWTorch.com reader
ECW returned to Belle Vernon, Pa in front of a really hot crowd. The show started on time.
(1) The FBI defeated Danny Doring & Angry Amish Roadkill. Mamaluke and Little Guido hit an excellent double drop-kick on Roadkill. Lots of "You F*** Sheep " chants which Roadkill nodded his head yes.
(2) C.M. Punk defeated Vampire by submission. I didn't catch the Vamp's name. Vamp got a lot of "You Suck D*** " chants. He did not impress the crowd. Punk got a great pop; he wrestled for local promotion IWC a few years ago, so it was nice to see him back in the area. Punk won by submission.
Kelly Striptease. Wow! Kelly came out in black boots, fishnets and a really tight little outfit. She told the crowd it was "really hot in here." She said she was an exhibitionist and started to strip. Her outfit was so tight, there was little left to the imagination. I had front row and loved every minute of it. Jazz hit the ring and hit Kelly with a clothesline from behind. Mike Knox hit the ring and chased Jazz off, covering Kelly up. Balls Mahoney's music hit and we get the next match.
(3) Mike Knox pinned Balls Mahoney. Knox hit his finisher. Balls hit the mat pretty hard. Looked like it hurt. I watched Know in dark Matches for Raw in Pittsburgh and Smackdown! In Wheeling. Mike Knox is a decent talent and should be given a chance.
(4) Sabu defeated C.W. Anderson by submission with the Camel Clutch. Sabu put Anderson through a table with an Arabian Face Buster. He then laid a steel chair across Anderson's back and sunk the Camel Clutch in.
Intermission
(5) Sandman pinned Justin Credible with the White Russian in a "Dueling Canes " match.
(6) Test defeated Tommy Dreamer. Crowd was all over Test with "You F***** Stephanie " and "Smackdown! Reject " chants. Dreamer was about to use a steel chair when Test gave him the big boot for the win.
(7) Rob Van Dam defeated Big Show. The crowd welcomed the ECW/WWE Champion with chants of "Whole F***** Show " and "R-V-D ". Big Show had a luke-warm reception. Chants of "Big Show's tired " and "Big Show's hungry ". The match saw a ref bump. Five-Star Frog Splash on Show for the 1-2-3. Not a bad match. RVD kept Big Show moving and hit all his moves.
NOTES: Matches were over by 9:30. No Kurt Angle for the home crowd as he must have started his time-off. Not a bad night. The Ice Garden was extremely hot temperature-wise. It was hotter inside than outside. Crowd was hot for all the matches. Crowd wanted Paul Heyman at the end as he was advertised for the event. Looked like a good-sized crowd. There was a pretty big line at the door at 6:30 with people starting to file in. Some local wrestling talent worked security for the evening. Lots of kids attending wearing John Cena gear. A few people walking around carrying replica belts. If fans wear the belts to the show, then they should be willing to defend the titles, right?
QUICK TIPS FOR SENDING RESULTS
If you attend an arena event in future, either house shows or TV tapings, we encourage you to send us a report for publication. You can direct your reports to "matchresults" (@pwtorch. com).
We accept reports in any format, but if it's not much trouble, please format your report like you see above, with the matches numbered like this (1) , (2) , (3) , with the opening line of each match paragraph stating who beat whom (don't just say Wrestler A vs. Wrestler beat with the result listed later; instead, state up front who won so those readers who don't have time to read the entire report (i. e. their boss walks past their cubicle all the time looking beat their shoulder) can at least quickly assess the results.
Also, please list tag teams using the "&" symbol as opposed to stating "and. " Reserve use of " and" when listing results in a threevway or fourvway match where there are no teams (i. e. " Wrestler A beat Wrestler B and Wrestler C in a threevway match" ) so it is easy to differentiate a handicap match from a threevway match.
If you know HTML coding for bolding, you can also bold out the first line of each match description. If you don't know HTML symbols, then we can add those ourselves.
Special thanks to everyone who helps us with reports on live events!
