Dublin, Ireland - The Point
Report by D. F. , PWTorch. com reader
Show started with Teddy Long coming out to announce a 10 man Cruizerweight Battle Royal, a World Tag Team Title Match Between Eddie Guerrero/Rey Mysterio and MNM, a tag match between Kurt Angle/JBL vs. John Cena/Big Show and the main event featuring The Undertaker vs. Orlando Gordon. Crowd was hot especially when the Undertaker and John Cena's names were announced. Most people in my section were shocked to hear Undertaker had travelled as he hasn't been on TV since WrestleMania and didn't travel to Australia a fortnight ago. Jordan was being punished for interfering in the previous nights main event.
(1) Hardcore Holly beat Rene Dupree. Lots of "holly" chants. Holly won with the Alabama slam. Basic match nothing special. Dupree stalled quite a bit before the match began. A lot of heat on the french flag
(2) Paul London won a Cruiserweight Battle Royal. London wins last eliminating Kidman. Looked like a botched finish with Kidman falling of the apron. No major high spots just a lot of good action. A lot of "London" and "Chavo" chants. Spike was eliminated 3 times
(3) Luther Reigns beat Charlie Haas. Luther wins with that spinning neck breaker of his. Haas had a lot of support until the crowd gave up on him midway through the match and started with a "boring" chant. Haas missed a moonsault which looked fairly spectacular. Haas carried this match
(4) Booker T beat Heidenreich. Booker wins with the kick to the back to the head. Crowd well behind booker T for he match and went crazy for th Spineroonie. Booker T played to the crowd after the match, they loved him.
(5) John Cena & Big Show beat JBL & Kurt Angle. Good match, especially when Kurt angle was in the ring. JBL came out dressed as a leprechaun has the "Irish rover" played over the sound system. Crowd loved it until JBL gave out to us for cheering for him just because he dressed up like one of us. He called Irish women "ugly" and Irish men "gay." A lot of heat on JBL. Angle got a huge pop as did Cena and show. Crowd well behind Cena. Cena got the pin when he gave JBL the FU and then gave Angle the FU onto JBL. After the match the Bashams and Orlando came down to beat up Cena. Cena bled heavily which was shocking for a house show. The five men beat him down for about 10 minutes and Cena had to be escorted to the back by the road agents.
There was a 10 minute intermission after this.
(6) MNM beat Rey Mysterio & Eddie Guerrero. MNM got the win when Melina distracted Eddie while Matthews and Nitro double teamed Rey with their DDT finisher. Rey and Eddie both received huge pops. Great Match, probably the best of the Night. Funny Spot was when Rey was about to do the 619 on Nitro he was distracted by Melina who had her legs spread on the rope. Rey kept starring until Eddie went up and put his hand of Rey's. Eddie and Rey posed after the match. Crowd was hot for this one
Cena made his way out to the ring to challenge angle and JBL to a fight for the beating he took earlier. Long came out and refused as Cena was in no condition to compete. JBL and Angle came out anyway and beat down Cena until the entire locker room came down to separate the three. Crowd was hot for this segment
(7) Carlito beat Mark Jindrak. Carlito wins with his foot on the rope. Crowd was firmly behind Carlito which I think surprised him due to his facial expressions
(8) Torrie Wilson beat Dawn Marie. Joy came down as the special ring announcer. Miss Jackie the special guest referee. Mid-way through the match miss Jackie turned heel and started double teaming Torrie with dawn. Joy made the save and counted the pinfall. Torrie won if anyone's interested in the result
Teddy Long came out and announced that the Smackdown roster would return to Dublin in June. He announced John Cena vs. JBL vs. Kurt Angle with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin as the Referee. The point went Crazy for that announcement. Can't wait for that. Austin never appeared here before so it'll be a exciting moment to see one of the companies biggest ever stars on Irish soil
(9) Undertaker beat Orlando Jordan by DQ Orlando Jordan used the U.S. Title in front of the referee. After the decision Taker gave Jordan the Tombstone. Taker's entrance is awesome live and the crowds support never died throughout the match
Overall a great night. Crowd was hot and the wrestling good. It would be great to see them travel here more often. This was the first time Smackdown had visited the Republic of Ireland
QUICK TIPS FOR SENDING RESULTS
If you attend an arena event in future, either house shows or TV tapings, we encourage you to send us a report for publication. You can direct your reports to "matchresults" (@pwtorch. com) .
We accept reports in any format, but if it's not much trouble, please format your report like you see above, with the matches numbered like this (1) , (2) , (3) , with the opening line of each match paragraph stating who over whom (don't just say Wrestler A vs. Wrestler beat with the result listed later; instead, state up front who won so those readers who don't have time to read the entire report (i. e. their boss walks past their cubicle all the time looking over their shoulder) can at least quickly assess the results.
Also, please list tag teams using the "&" symbol as opposed to stating "and. " Reserve use of "and" when listing results in a threevway or fourvway match where there are no teams (i. e. "Wrestler A over Wrestler B and Wrestler C in a threevway match") so it is easy to differentiate a handicap match from a threevway match.
If you know HTML coding for bolding, you can also bold out the first line of each match description. If you don't know HTML symbols, then we can add those ourselves.
Special thanks to everyone who helps us with reports on live events!
