[Q1] Jason Jordan and Tye Dillenger come out to some music that sounds a lot like the Fight Club soundtrack. Nice feel to it. They are hear for the Tag Team Tournament match. They are facing Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady. Amore coms out twitching. Really fun pre-match promos. The entire crowd recites with them.
Jason Albert, Rich Brennan, and Alex Riley have the call.
1 - ENZO AMORE & COLIN CASSADY vs. JASON JORDAN & TYE DILLENGER - Tag Team Tournament match
Amore sends Dillenger to the corner, so Jordan comes in. Lots of promise in Jordan. Jordan with amateur technique but a shoulder block sets up an elbow drop for Cassady. Nice suplex from Jordan. Cassady gets worn down by Jordan and Dillenger. Cassady catches a foot stomp to get to the corner and bring in Amore.
Amore with a right, hits the ropes and runs into a superkick. That looked brutal and Amore is totally limp. Amore plays deadweight as Jordan ragdolls him into the corner. Cassady jumps in front of Amore to spare him a spear. Dillenger argues with the ref so Cassady big boots Jordan and he falls down with Amore's limp body on top of him. Amore scores the pin while selling being knocked out.
WINNERS: Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady in 5:10. I hate to see a promising team like Jordan and Dillenger lose, but they got elevated in the loss and hopefully can start a feud with Cassady and Amore. I love Enzo Amore so much, and I hope that he never gets called to the main roster to team up with Los Matadores or Santino (see: Emma).
Alex Riley calls Enzo Amore to win the tournament. I could see that happening.
Backstage, Renee Young interviews Sami Zayn. He says it has been far too long, showing a warmth he doesn't show with Devin Taylor. I swear, these two must be in a real-life relationship from their interactions. She wants to know who his partner is. He has one, but he isn't medically cleared. Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel make fun of him for having no friends. They thank him for the bye. Zayn points out that he's beaten the both of them and vows to do it again one-on-two if needed. Adam Rose comes out to offer himself as a partner. Zayn takes him up on it, and offers Zayn the lollipop he was eating. Zayn puts it in his mouth.
[ J.J.'s Reax: The last thing this match needed was to have Adam Rose injected into it. This has been a serious feud up until that. ]
C.J. Parker comes out to silence. He has a "Stop Frickin Fracking" sign. The microphones must be off because it is clear that some folks in the audience are cheering for him. He says that it isn't a sign that he holds, but a social message for change. He says they boo him because he speaks the truth.
[Q2] Xavier Woods's music interrupts him. Jason Albert lets us know what fracking is. Alex Riley asks how stopping fracking is bad. Good question...
2 - XAVIER WOODS vs. C.J. PARKER
Woods jumps on Parker with an immediate takedown to emphasize the hotness of their beef. Woods brawls to a one count. Woods to the top but Parker hides on the other side of the ring. Parker dodges a corner spear and Parker is reeling outside the ring.
[ Break ]
Parker is controlling Woods out of the break. Senton gets two for Parker. Parker hits a double axe handle from the top. They trade blows and Woods gets the better of it. Woods runs Parker over, then a kick and a dropkick knock Parker down. Cross-body off the top, but Parker rolls through to grab a two count. Woods fights off the mat to grab a nearfall. Woods psyches himself up for the Honor Roll and hits it but Parker barely kicks out. Woods to the top, Parker rolls away, Woods walks the ropes and leaps and lands on Parker for another nearfall. Parker sends Woods face-first into the ropes then hits a fireman's carry slam-like move for the win.
WINNER: C.J. Parker in 8:30. Dull match until the last minute or so. Woods looked awesome at the end with an "anything to win" attitude.
Eden Stiles says that Tyler Breeze asks that we look at the 'Tron.
Breeze has a backstage-selfie video. He says that he's decided to cash in his #1 contender status. Great, short promo from Breeze.
[Q3] Bayley is out to a match. She's facing... Eva Marie.
3 - BAYLEY vs. EVA MARIE
Marie pie-faces Bayley then hides in the ropes. Marie with a shoulder block and blows kisses at Bayley. Back elbow puts Marie down. Bayley helicopters on Marie's back. Marie cautiously slides into a cover, then tries very hard to not hurt Bayley on a hold. Suplex gets two for Marie. Another weak-looking hold. Marie wants a suplex, but Bayley transitions to a small package for two. Bayley with a takedown but Marie kind of forgets how to fall. Hugplex puts us out of our misery. The crowd chants "thank you Bayley" and I concur.
WINNER: Bayley in 3:50. Eva Marie may be one of the Top 5 worst wrestlers I have ever seen in terms of execution. The only move she did right was a suplex somehow. I've seen toddlers throw more forceful punches. I can't think of a Raw guest host who looked more uncomfortable in the ring.
Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel come out for their match. Gabriel has changed up his look a bit, but he still has his Barry Weiss gloves. The entire crowd rises as one for Sami Zayn's entrance. They sing "Ole!" to the tune of his entrance song. Adam Rose comes out. The announcers pull a Michael Cole and start dancing.
4 - SAMI ZAYN & ADAM ROSE vs. TYSON KIDD & JUSTIN GABRIEL - Tag Team Tournament match
Zayn and Kidd kick it off. Kidd with a shoulder block to take Zayn down, then mocks Zayn's dancing. Zayn with three armdrags, the third into an armbar. Adam Rose in. Gabriel in. Gabriel leads Rose around the ring and Kidd ambushes him. Rose gets a double team beatdown. Spinebuster gets two for Rose. Kidd breaks up the cover, but after Gabriel kicks out. Kidd wrecks Rose with elbows and punches in the corner, then Gabriel gets cheap shots in behind the ref's back. Tree of Woe, Kidd stomps and Gabriel gets more cheap shots. Classic tag team work here.
[ Break ]
[Q4] Kidd and Gabriel continue to grind Rose in their corner using dirty tricks and frequent tags. Rose tries to fight off the mat but that only angers Gabriel. Rose tries to fight back again. Sleeper, but Gabriel suplexes out. Rose gets his knees up on a springboard elbow from Kidd. Double tag and Zayn creams Gabriel. Zayn clears the ring. Kidd wants in and gets sent out. Insane flip dive knocks Kidd and Gabriel onto the ramp, but Zayn looks hurt. Rose to the top and he bombs onto Kidd and Gbriel too and he looks hurt. Rose rolls Gabriel into the ring, Helluva Kick and Zayn with the win.
WINNERS: Sami Zayn and Adam Rose in 9:58. The difference between Zayn and Rose was so obvious at the end. Zayn flew over the top rope like a fish swims in water, while Rose climbed to the top like an old man gets out of bed, and landed with the grace of a sunbathing walrus.
Final Reax: Eva Marie has no business in a wrestling ring. I'd rather see a Mason Ryan - Ezekiel Jackson - Vladimir Kozlov Triple Threat Iron Man Match with a 60 minute time limit... in slow motion. Adam Rose stuck out like a sore thumb against the craftsmanship of Gabriel, Kidd, and Zayn. Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady were a ton of fun to watch while being focused on winning matches.
