WWE NXT Results
March 27, 2013
Taped at Full Sail University
By Justin James, PWTorch contributor

[Q1] It's a star-studded NXT, with Jim Ross and William Regal in the booth (along with Tom Philips) and The Fink welcoming Natalya and Kaitlyn to the ring for a Divas Championship match.

1 - KAITLYN vs. NATALYA - WWE Divas Championship

Kaitlyn takes Natalya off her feet, but Natalya picks a leg. Natalya returns to the leg, and this is looking like a college wrestling match with technical style. Fireman's carry takedown gets one for Natalya. Double leg takedown to a jackknife cover for Kaitlyn, then Natayla bridges out and backslides, but eats a low dropkick. Sunset flip, but Natalya rolls through. Natayla wants a Sharpshooter, but Kaitlyn scrambles out. Kaitlyn is struggling in an abdominal stretch going to the break.

[ Commercial Break ]

Kaitlyn is reversing the abdominal stretch as the crowd is split in their support for each Diva. Natalya taking control, but misses a leg drop. They brawl. Kaitlyn with a fireman's carry into a gutbuster for a nearfall. Natlaya leapfrogs a spear and looks for another Sharpshooter, and locks it in mid-ring. Kaitlyn somehow gets to the ropes after a lengthy struggle, but Natalya breaks her off the ropes. Kaityln rolls through to get some time. Kaitlyn hits the spear out of nowhere for the win.

WINNER: Kaitlyn in 7:30. Very, very long for a Divas match. Kaitlyn sometimes is on-point with her matches, sometimes she is clunky. This week she was clunky. As much as I enjoy Kaitlyn, I'd rather see Paige against Natalya.

Post-match, Natalya reluctant shakes Kaitlyn's hand, then gives her a hug.

Backstage, Tony Dawson is interviewing Alberto Del Rio. They talk about his issues with Jack Swagger.

[Q2] El Local is out. Pretty nimble for a guy who just had his leg broken by Jack Swagger. He's facing Brodus Clay. Tom Philips unfortunately reminds us of Clay's "mamas" at WrestleMania 28. I had erased that from my mind.

2 - BRODUS CLAY vs. EL LOCAL

El Local predictably gets overpowered at first. Clay manages a jackknife cover. El Local with an enziguiri, than a dive to the knee. Springboard karate kick, then Clay headbutts through a cross-body. Typical Clay comeback. Diving headbutt and Clay calls his momma for the win.

WINNER: Brodus Clay in 2:30. We're almost halfway through NXT, and the only thing having to do with NXT was El Local getting squashed.

Scott Stanford tells the audience to look forward to Randy Orton against Damien Sandow later tonight, reinforcing the idea that the whole NXT cast is anywhere but at FSU tonight.

The Shield video out of the break. They are going to deliver justice to their WrestleMania opponents.

Backstage, Tony Dawson has John Cena. Cena chooses the less-than-serious route at first. Dawson looks like he's trying to hold in a laugh or some gas, and that's probably the best thing about this promo.

They send back to the booth, but Regal is ambushed by Kassius Ohno. Ohno destroys Regal as Jim Ross and Tom Philips look on. It takes five refs to pull Ohno off Regal, who did not get in a single blow, and is laid out.

[Q3] Regal is gone from the desk as JR and Philips recap the attack. Ode to Joy brings out Damien Sandow. He takes a moment of his valuable time to enlighten us. He is serving as "the avenging sword of taste and decency."

3 - RANDY ORTON vs. DAMIEN SANDOW

Orton looks strong out of the break, but seems to disagree with the tension on the ropes. Sandow turns it around in the corner. Thesz Press from Orton. Sandow slips out of the ring then does it again, but gets clobbered ringside.

[ Commercial Break ]

Scott Stanford in a quick blurb advertises that Big E. Langston will defend the NXT Title against Conor O'Brian next week.

Orton with his slow-paced offense out of the break. Sandow rolls away from the knee drop to gain an edge. Orton blocks a suplex and hits one of his own. Sandow slips out of the elevated DDT and sends Orton to the ringside, but Orton yanks him out of the ring. Sandow sends Orton into the steps. Side Russian Legsweep and the Elbow of Disdain for a two count.

Sandow goes to the turnbuckle, but Orton attacks him there, then hits a superplex, which is good for a nearfall. Orton goes on offense, but eats a boot in the corner. Jumping neckbreaker gets Sandow a nearfall. Orton hits his DDT and panders to the audience for cheers before prepping and hitting the RKO.

WINNER: Randy Orton in 10:30. If you've seen one Randy Orton match, you've seen them all.

Final Reax: This was completely inexplicable. Only one NXT member appeared in the ring on this show, and it was El Local (who is really a main roster member anyways). The interviews Tony Dawson did were clearly taped outside of FSU. Seriously, what happened? Was the entire NXT crew on vacation or something?
