[Q1] A video package recaps the beginning of the NXT Tag Title Tournament. Of note, Scott Stanford seems to have consistently moved into the role of voice-over work for NXT.

Alex Riley and Derrick Bateman are both making their returns to the ring. Bateman is wearing a pretty-serious-looking knee brace. They are facing Kassius Ohno and Leo Kruger, and this has the potential to be a good match.

1 - ALEX RILEY & DERRICK BATEMAN vs. KASSIUS OHNO & LEO KRUGER - Tag Team Tournament match

Bateman and Kruger start things off. Bateman narrowly avoids getting trapped in the corner by Kruger, then contros Kruger with arm work. Riley comes in and Kruger scampers away to tag in Ohno. Riley wants a quick pin but doesn't get it. Riley has added some new moves to his arsenal. Bateman sends Ohno over the top rope then dumps Kruger, too.

[Commercial Break]

Kruger fights out of a resthold and goes on the attack. Bateman fires up and pounds Kruger in the corner, but he takes a moment to look at Ohno which lets Kruger dodge a charge. Bateman is selling a knee injury, and Ohno starts to work the other knee. Ohno plays up his ongoing feud with Regal by staring at him from the apron.

Bateman finally is able to tag in Riley, who unloads on Ohno. A-Bomb from Riley but Kruger breaks up the tag. Bateman clears Kruger, but Kruger knocks him off the apron. Ohno with a schoolboy on the distracted Riley for two. Riley wants the Final Score, but Ohno slips out and Kruger distracts Riley again. Riley turns around only to be met by Ohno's elbow and then Ohno's submission finisher to end the match.

WINNERS: Kassius Ohno & Leo Kruger in 11:00. That was a really good match, and Kruger is starting to work really well with Ohno. While he doesn't distinguish himself, he has dialed down the goofiness of his character and he makes a great helper for Ohno to wear down opponents. And, Ohno makes a fantastic mouthpiece for him, and their characters mesh in an odd way. Kudos to NXT for turning Kruger into a viable player.

Post-match, the bracket is updated to show that Kruger and Ohno will face Adrian Neville and Oliver Grey next week. They cut from the bracket to show Corey Graves attacking the senseless Alex Riley and locking him into the Thirteenth Step. Graves looks absolutely insane.

[Q2] "Earlier today" Tony Dawson interviews Big E. Langston about Conor O'Brien. Langston can't wait to meet O'Brien in the ring and vows to put O'Brien to sleep permanently.

Mason Ryan makes his return against Sakamoto. I think Ryan somehow got bigger and more muscular.

2 - MASON RYAN vs. SAKAMOTO

Sakamoto rushes Ryan to his chagrin. Sakamoto gets caught on a crossbody and takes a crossbody and a monster fallaway slam in payment. Ryan with a nervehold. Ryan with a delayed suplex-style hold into a powerslam for the win.

WINNER: Mason Ryan in 2:15. Ryan seems to have picked up a few new moves, but I don't know if it is enough. He still seems almost dangerous in the ring.

"Earlier today" Tony Dawson interviews Xavier Woods. Woods is delighted because he found a portable CD player with a Bel Biv Devoe CD in it, and he and Dawson break into song and dance. He also has a pager. It's "cheaper to beep her" he says. They talk up him match with El Locale next week. Woods came off as a ton of fun in that segment.

Aksana is out for her promised match against Paige. She's traded in the black pleather for red velvet. Dawson with the astute (and probably true) observation that there are more signs for Paige in the arena than any other roster member.

3 - PAIGE vs. AKSANA

Aksana picks Paige up, puts her on the ropes, and then dumps her outside. Aksana with a catapult into the ropes then back into the knees into a cover for two. Side slam from Aksana. Aksana with a sort of bow and arrow and Paige looks nearly in tears.

[Q3] Paige comes off the mat with fists and elbows, but runs into a foot. Paige with a sort of Liontamer for a submission win. Dawson calls it a "Rampage Finish" - perhaps that's its name?

WINNER: Paige in 3:00. Aksana has improved since her short run on NXT 3. Paige sells everything really well and you can't help but to sympathize with her plight. Nice to see her add a submission finisher to her toolbox.

Post-match, Paige accidentally stumbles into the ring announcer. She jumps Paige from behind. Dawson tells us that her name is Summer Ray. Summer storms off and Paige looks furious.

Backstage, Rene Young has Sasha Banks. Pre-interview, Young expresses her dismay at Summer Ray's actions. She congratulates Banks on her first victory last week. Banks expresses happiness at beating someone at Alicia Fox's level. An assistant gives Banks a card. It's from her "secret admirer." Let's hope it isn't Hornswoggle.

Video package recapping Bo Dallas's win in the pre-Rumble match to earn a shot in the Rumble.

Epico has a new haircut, and after weeks of chants, the FSU crowd is finally getting Rosa Mendes. Who says WWE doesn't listen to the fans?

4 - MICHAEL MCGILLICUTTY & BO DALLAS vs. PRIMO & EPICO (w/Rosa Mendes) - Tag Team Tournament match

Dallas and Primo to start. Dallas shoves Primo to the mat, but Primo tricks him and takes him down by the leg. Dallas gets trapped in the corner. Dallas turns things around and steam-rolls Primo. Tag to McGillicutty. McGillicutty controls the match.

[Commercial break]

Primo and Epico cheat a bit to turn the match around.

[Q4] Double tag and Dallas runs over Primo. Primo with a handful of tights for a nearfall. Primo with a sick-looking DDT for a nearfall. Dallas with a belly-to-belly suplex out of nowhere for the win.

WINNERS: Dallas & McGillicutty in 10:30. That was the first WWE Tag Team match in about four years that didn't end with everyone clearing each other from the ring. Decent-enough match, but the end was predicted by the brackets. Dallas has made good strides, but he still has a ways to come. I wish he'd lose the single biker glove, though.

Final Reax: Another good episode of NXT, continuing storylines, starting new ones, and strengthening existing characters. Nice to see NXT talent going over strong over established WWE roster members all around. I am still disappointed at the lack of follow-up on The Shield and Seth Rollins; he just disappeared from NXT without even an attempt to get his title back? Good to see a pair of longer matches and the Divas getting some backstage time and a post-match angle. The Tag Team Tournament is producing good matches and interesting match-ups.
