The cast of Season Five of WWE NXT (Pros):
-- Darren Young (Chavo Guerrero)
-- Jacob Novak (JTG)
-- Byron Saxton (Yoshi Tatsu)
-- Conor O'Brian (Kozlov)
-- Lucky Cannon (Tyson Kidd)
-- Titus O'Neil (Hornswoggle)
This week's NXT opened with a video package highlighting Maryse's role hosting the show and Lucky Cannon and Yoshi Tatsu fighting over Maryse's affection, prompting Ted DiBiase's re-emergence on last week's episode. This week, Maryse answers DiBiase's ultimatum: me or the show.
On-stage, Matt Striker introduced his co-host, Maryse. Striker asked Maryse to answer the ultimatum. Maryse said no one tells her what to do and she had a lot of millionaires before DiBiase and she will have a lot of millionaires after DiBiase. She milked it before saying she's choosing NXT. With that out of the way, Striker introduced the NXT Rookies.
First out was Lucky Cannon, prompting Striker to get in-between Maryse and Lucky. With all six Rookies assembled on-stage, Striker reminded everyone they are competing for a chance to be on NXT Season 6. Maryse updated the standings with Titus having 9, Young with 7, and Saxton with 4.
First challenge this week is Power of the Punch worth four points. Saxton was up first and scored a firm 649. The handful of interested fans randomly booed. Novak was next and weakly approached the punching bag to score in the 400s. William Regal had a big smile on his face at the announce table watching this with disdain. D. Young then scored in Novak's range, drawing more boos.
Next was Ratface O'Brian, who blasted Saxton's score, picking up 770. Titus O'Neil was up next and nearly broke the machine, scoring 801. Cannon was up next, still sporting his cape. He said he is above this, he's not a clown, and he's here to win titles. Cannon was DQ'ed, giving Titus the win and another four points. He's up to 13 total on the season.
Cannon stole Titus's post-victory mic time to sweet-talk Maryse, which brought out Yoshi Tatsu for the block. Tatsu stood right in front of Maryse before Cannon challenged him to a match tonight. Cannon invited Maryse to ringside since she's now on the market. Engage Stare Down between Yoshi and Cannon.
Announcers: Grisham and dapper Regal were shown on-camera plugging another featured match tonight between Titus and Darren Young. Grisham then fed to the first televised plug for WWE Studios's "That's What I Am" featuring Randy Orton in a supporting role.

In-ring: Hornswoggle's music brought out Titus for the opening match of the show. Chavo's music brought out Darren Young, who cut a promo on Hornswoggle about him being a joke. Chavo tried to warn Young to be careful because Horny is feisty.
1 -- DARREN YOUNG (w/Chavo Guerrero) vs. TITUS O'NEIL (w/Hornswoggle)
Young quickly took control as Hornswoggle tried to rally the crowd behind Titus. Titus made a big comeback with knock-down clotheslines before measuring Young for a flying clothesline. Young then allowed himself to be distracted by Hornswoggle, allowing Titus to roll up Young from behind for the win.
Post-match: the heel-turned Young attacked Titus from behind and put him on his stomach with a gutbuster. The announcers noted it's too late. Young got a crazy look in his eye as he grabbed Hornswoggle, putting him in harm's way. Chavo then stepped in and tried to calm down Young, telling him to focus on him. Chavo told Young not to worry about Hornswoggle because the problem was the match, not Horny. The crowd became very concerned for Hornswoggle's well-being, with Young milking it until the crowd's maximum interest before releasing Hornswoggle.
WINNER: Titus at 2:28. Nice character development for Young showing some renewed aggression from his Nexus days.
[Break. Tough Enough plug. Apparently next Monday's challenge involves cheerleading. Plus, Stone Cold makes a "shocking" elimination.]
In-ring: JTG came out and Regal offered some great dry humor that he talked to a friend from Rosetta Stone about what exactly JTG and Kozlov said to each other backstage last week. JTG then welcomed out a "newly fly" JTG, who was sporting a Yankees cap, flashy shades, a wifebeater tanktop, baggy jeans, and big Timbalands. Regal leaned back in his chair selling bewilderment.
In the ring, Novak took the mic and blamed JTG for him not earning a single redemption point. Novak flipped off the cap and said he doesn't even like the Yankees. Novak called out Regal, saying he hears him talking every week. Regal just smirked and looked down at his feet that Novak wasn't worth his time. Novak unconvincingly told Regal he'll show him how to be a star. JTG's music hit and Regal said the last thing Novak needs is him climbing into the ring to turn Novak into a vegetable.
[Break]
2 -- JACOB NOVAK (w/JTG) vs. BYRON SAXTON (w/Yoshi Tatsu)
Novak, looking like Slam Master J, was quickly knocked to the floor via a clothesline from Saxton. On the floor, Novak dropped Saxton across the apron. Grisham noted Novak has yet to pick up a Redemption Point this season. "I'll give him some redemption," Regal said under his breath. Grisham noted Regal's respect for the ring, prompting Regal to endorse the ring as his mecca, his temple to apply his trade. Since the match slowed to a virtual standstill, the focus turned to Regal talking about his career and trying to learn a new trade announcing. Grisham noted Regal is trying to get out of the ring, but Novak is trying to pull him back in. Novak then used the Timbalands to smash Saxton in the torso multiple times. This was good enough for a pin, giving Novak a surprise win. Grisham asked Regal if he was impressed. Regal added a great pause before giving Novak a mild endorsement.
WINNER: Novak at 3:43. If anyone is going to get something out of Novak on this season, it's Regal, who excelled on commentary during this segment.
Still to come: Yoshi vs. Cannon with their "manhoods" on the line, according to Grisham.
[Break]
Raw Rebound: Regal added a personal note about his relationship with Edge before feeding to a real-time video replay of Edge coming out on Raw last night to announce his retirement from the ring. Back on NXT, Grisham plugged this Friday's Smackdown when Edge surrenders the World Title.
Announcers: Grisham and Regal were joined by Maryse on commentary to call the main event. Maryse told Regal they say French women are more desirable than English women. Regal quipped back that he agrees. Cannon was already in the ring trying to lure Maryse with his eyes before Yoshi came out. Maryse noted she can't even understand Yoshi.
3 -- YOSHI TATSU vs. LUCKY CANNON
Cannon quickly took it to Yoshi, grounding him on the mat. Maryse said this show should be called MXT - Maryse Xtreme TV since everyone is fighting over her. The camera went back and forth between Maryse ringside and the back-and-forth action in the ring. Grisham had to loosen his tie as Maryse inched closer to him trying to engage Regal in a conversation. Lucky then slipped out of the ring and said this show is about him. Maryse laughed in his face. Back in the ring, Yoshi blasted Cannon with chops followed by rapid-fire kicks. Maryse said Yoshi is like a five-year-old who needs to grew up, but she likes his innocence. Up top, Yoshi nailed a big roundhouse kick to the face. Cannon slumped to the mat and Yoshi made the cover for the win.
WINNER: Yoshi at 3:18. There was a match? Lucky is showing something new each week, but it's not in the ring at this point.
Post-match: Maryse slipped into the ring and laughed in Lucky's face. She then approached Yoshi to plant a big kiss on his lips. Yoshi stood straight up in the ring as Cannon sold disgust with this development. Grisham noted Yoshi did it - he won the match and the girl. Yoshi jumped up and down as Cannon held his head in disdain. Maryse marched away before they replayed the kiss. Grisham closed the show with a voice-over on a still shot of Yoshi standing straight up in the ring post-kiss.
