TNA Reaction Report
October 7, 2010
Aired live on Spike TV - Official episode #8 (pilot aired 4/12)
By James Caldwell, PWTorch assistant editor

Fifteen minutes into the "Reaction hour," the live Reaction picked up from the end of the battle royal won by Kurt Angle during the live Impact. The voice-over man plugged video packages on Angle, Anderson, and Hardy. Also, who has the advantage between Fortune and EV2 heading into Lethal Lockdown?

Backstage: Ric Flair was asked to talk about what happened with Mick Foley. Flair said they're done with that and about to go hop in the biggest limo. Flair said the only thing that happened tonight was his legacy got his bigger. He said Last Man Standing isn't one, two, three. Flair said Fortune is the real deal. He said with 39 years of experience, these are the best. He said they're on their way to Daytona Beach for Bound for Glory.

Flair told the cameraman that if he wants to see $100,000, show up in the bar on Sunday night. Flair vowed to make Foley kiss his ass at the PPV. He said a lot of women in the company want to kiss his ass. They talked to A.J. Styles, who said he outlasted EV2 in the battle royal. Flair then brought in Roode and Storm to talk about the action they'll get at the hotel. Kazarian interjected some thoughts that EV2 has been kissing Dixie Carter's ass since they arrived. Morgan stood in the background looking tough as the silent assassin during this. Flair told Dixie to watch this because this is the nucleus of TNA. He said EV2 goes down at BFG and he might kiss Dixie's ass.

Flair said Foley is lying on a stretcher and going around the country selling a book no one is buying. Flair said Foley's best-selling days and best wrestling days are behind him. Flair brought it home that this group bring out the best in athletes in wrestling. He said they don't always win, but there will always be a party. Fortune started to leave, but Kazarian and Styles stopped to discuss something.

[Commercial Break]

Mickie James profile: They cut to a shot of Mickie James backstage. She said she came to TNA to "make history." She's going by "Mickey James." James said her goal is to hold the Knockouts Title. Suddenly, the feed cut out.

Announcers: They cut to a shot of Tenay and Taz at the announce desk inside the Impact Zone. Taz said James is a world-class, international Superstar. He put over her credibility as Tenay talked about James playing the special referee role for the KO Title match at the PPV.

Back to James, who said she intends to go "straight to the top," which is KO champion Madison, she said. Actually, that would be Angelina Love. Mickie said you have to learn different styles depending on "who you're working with." She said she can adjust her style to fit the opponent. James talked about her singing and shooting a music video in Nashville.

Announcers: Back to Tenay and Taz to talk about the three-way match for the TNA Title at Bound for Glory. Taz said Angle is $100,000 richer heading into the PPV. Tenay said they will hear from Foley, Angle, and update Hogan's condition.

Backstage: Mr. Anderson was asked how he's feeling right now. He said Angle should be buying himself some integrity with the $100,000. Anderson said, "What goes around comes around." He said he's focused right now on 10-10-10. "We'll see what happens there," Anderson said as he unwrapped his wrist tape.

[Commercial Break]

Backstage: Mick Foley was sitting down in a chair looking off into space. Foley had dried blood on his face as EV2 stood behind him. Foley started talking about Christmas and how "when the big day rolls around, it always falls short of the years gone by...except for tonight." Foley said the "perfect Christmas" was ruined by Fortune stomping on his toys. He said they settle the score at Bound for Glory. Tommy Dreamer was injured with an ice pack on his wrist. They zoomed in on Sabu's sliced up forehead. Richards said Kazarian punched him in the mouth. He said they're going to give Foley a second Christmas present on Sunday.

Raven said he has a room dedicated to his broken childhood because he gets off on that. Raven said it gives him more reason to feel that pain and animosity and dish it out. Rhino was next to talk. He said they fought each other in the past and made each other bleed in the past, but they came together today. Rhino screamed and shouted that they will make Fortune bleed. Back to Foley, who said there's a lot of bad blood in the past with him and Flair. Foley said there are some broken, angry men here. He said he could have had his night to shine, but Fortune ruined it. Raven started cutting another Raven promo as they cut to a shot of Sabu looking around. Richards had the shifty eyes. Foley said they settle the score at Bound for Glory. He did a Santa laugh as Tenay's voice was rewound, then played again in the background to plug what's coming up next.

[Commercial Break]

Hogan Update: They rolled footage of Hulk Hogan's latest back procedures trying to correct his chronic back pain. They showed footage of Hogan trying to walk around after the procedure. The doctor said he'll need at least six weeks of limited mobility to recover.

Announcers: Tenay and Taz talked about Hogan having eight surgeries since 2009 on his back. Taz said it's from years and years of wear & tear from being in wrestling. Taz said it sucks to see him in that situation. Tenay said with that in-play, they were surprised by Nash, Sting, and Pope's reactions during Impact.

Backstage: Kurt Angle, 35 minutes after the battle royal, was shown huffing and puffing after winning the big cash. Jesse Neal then came in to snitch to Angle that Anderson called out Angle earlier in the show. Angle demanded the headsets and footage of Anderson's interview talking about Angle needing to buy some integrity. Angle threw down the headsets as the audio continued to play. He stormed off through a side door as they cut to break.

[Commercial Break]

Backstage: Kurt Angle was shown storming through the locker room area before approaching Mr. Anderson, who no-sold Angle huffing and puffing. Angle referenced Anderson telling him to buy some integrity. Anderson accused Angle of cheap shots during the battle royal, then muttered under his breath, "Dick," as Angle walked off. Angle stopped and came back to ask Anderson what he just said. Anderson stood up and said, "Dick." Angle stomped off again and Anderson whispered that he hopes it's the last time they see him. Angle came back and told Anderson to say it to his face. Anderson said real slowly that he'll see Angle for the very last time at Bound for Glory.

A brawl broke out with Anderson landed a gut shot to send Angle into the lockers. Angle came back with some worked punches before throwing Anderson into the lockers. Angle let Anderson up and stood over Angle, who came back with a kick to the groin. He followed with some worked stomps to the gut on the floor of the locker room. "I'll see you at Bound for Glory, a--hole," Angle said before leaving. Anderson continued to catch his breah while on the floor. He vowed to show Angle a real a--hole at the PPV. "Oh my nuts," he said before sitting up. Anderson started clearing the locker room as the show ended.
