Report by James Caldwell, PWTorch assistant editor

[Q1] This week's TNA Impact Wrestling show opened with a video package on Hulk Hogan doing some soul-searching, which brought him to where "enough is enough." There's the Dixie Carter press conference shot. Time for a celebration of Hogan's career.

Parking garage: Hogan was shown limping away from his vehicle before shaking hands with Eric Bischoff upon arriving at the building. Taz claimed it will be the last time for Hogan in a wrestling ring tonight.

In-ring: Beer Money's music hit to bring out James Storm, in his home state, and Robert Roode to the ring. Tenay noted Storm and Roode will be one-on-one tonight later in the show. It's the final test for Roode in the Fortune Gauntlet. In the ring, Storm took the mic to run down Hogan's "retirement show." Storm said it's about time he takes a back seat and lets the young guys take over. Such a weak comment when the line should be they have "taken" the spot (not someone should "let" them have the spot). Storm continued his worked shoot talking about performing with Roode tonight, then Roode reset matters.

Roode said he was taken aback when Angle used his booking power from Bischoff to book Fortune in matches against each other. Roode said he needed to be challenged, though, because he knew if he could beat A.J. and Kazarian at their best, then he knew he would be ready for Kurt Angle. Roode told Storm to give him everything he has tonight and get him ready for Kurt Angle. Roode said they're like brothers and ten days from now, he's main-eventing Bound for Glory against Angle. "Next World champ" chant from a few audible fans.

Storm went back to their Beer Money history and said when they formed the team four years ago, he knew he was shaking the hand of a future World champ. Storm then repeated what they said about bringing it tonight. He added that he might just be a little better than Roode. Storm said Roode has proven he's a great "worker," and now it's time for him to prove the same. Storm removed his shades and threw his catchphrase in his face. Roode smiled and they shook hands. (JC: Fine promo exchange, but enough with the insider lingo.)

Somewhere Else: Sting, wearing the red and yellow of Hulkamania, spotted a crazy clown picture and stopped to admire. Tenay said Sting has arrived for Hogan's ceremony.

[Commercial Break]

Arena: Taz read a speech about the fans in Knoxville buzzing over Hogan's retirement tonight. This led to a flashback to January 4, 2010 when Hogan arrived on the scene in TNA... Announcers: Tenay and Taz were shown on-camera to discuss Hogan. Taz played it up like the end of an era tonight. The announcers then broke down tonight's line-up.

[Q2] In-ring: Gunner, representing Immortal, came out first for the opening match of the show. Kazarian, representing Fortune, was out next.

1 -- KAZARIAN vs. GUNNER

The announcers continued to talk Hogan as the production truck ran Twitter posts on the screen talking about the make-believe contributions Hogan has made to TNA. Gunner targeted Kazarian's previously-injured left tricep/bicep area with early offense before Kaz made a comeback at 3:30. Gunner avoided a corner attack, though, and Kaz smashed into the ringpost. Gunner followed up with a standing armbar and Kaz quickly tapped out.

Post-match: Gunner locked the hold in an extra moment to inflict more punishment, which led to a reverse decision by the referee. Kaz was announced as the winner while medics checked on Kaz. Crimson didn't care about the result and gloated over his work before leaving the ring. "Screw you all!" he growled to no one in particular.

WINNER: Kaz via DQ reverse decision at 4:13.

[Commercial Break]

In-ring: Back from break, "standalone" Mr. Anderson came to the ring in a t-shirt and shorts to address his feud with Bully Ray. Anderson started with some hat hair joke that fell flat. He said he's out here to apologize, which drew boos. Not to Hogan. Not to Bischoff. Not even to Dixie Carter. But, to the people who mean the most to him who he turned on in a moment of weakness. His a-holes. He looked for a shout-out from the a-holes, but there were some boos. Anderson said he's not very good at playing the political game in wrestling, so he's had to scratch and claw for what he has. And, in a moment of weakness, he joined Immortal. "What the hell was I thinking?" he said before describing his learning experience from that. He called Bully Ray a "giant freaking d-bag," which led to Bully Ray's music interrupting.

[Q3] Ray stomped out to the ring and said he wants to make this quick before he heads over to Univ. of Tennessee stadium to take a leak on the field. Appropriately, this turned into a pissing contest before they got to the point: Anderson challenged Ray to a Philadelphia Falls Count Anywhere match at Bound for Glory. Anderson's music played before Ray could respond to the challenge. Tenay, apparently a mind-reader, said the match is official.

Still to come: Roode vs. Storm. Up next: Sky & James vs. Winter & Rayne in tag action.

[Commercial Break]

Backstage: Storm and Roode were shown on a split-screen preparing for their match in the second hour.

Elsewhere backstage: Bischoff said he doesn't know he feels about Hogan "retiring." He said their affairs are in order, but it's tough and it's the end of an era. Bischoff talked about being a fan of Hogan before they began working together. And, now it's all over. He said it's tough; really, really tough.

Elsewhere backstage: Brian Kendrick recited a poem, noting he's "glory bound" challenging Austin Aries for the X Division Title at the PPV. Kendrick turned his attention to Kid Kash being a jerk before Kash snuck up behind him. Kash told him to say it to his face. Kendrick said that's fair enough, then Kash slapped the taste out of him before beating him down on the floor.

In-ring: Mickie James and Velvet Sky made their ring entrances ahead of a Knockouts tag match previewing the four-way Knockouts Title match at BFG.

[Commercial Break]

[Q4]

2 -- MICKIE JAMES & VELVET SKY vs. Knockouts champion WINTER (w/Angelina Love) & MADISON RAYNE

The heels made their entrance on the other side of the break leading right into the start of the fourth quarter-hour. The focus early on was on Mickie-Winter, continuing their recent KO Title feud. The heels took control via outside interference from Angelina to begin working over Mickie. After Velvet took a tag, the action broke down. Referee confusion ensued. Rayne then rolled up Velvet, who had a pin moments earlier, for the win.

WINNERS: Winter & Rayne at 4:41. Basic build-up to the title match in ten days.

Backstage: They showed Jeff Hardy walking down the hallway in an all-black outfit.

[Commercial Break]

Hogan Flashback: March 8, 2010 when Hogan teamed with Abyss for his in-ring return. There was Dixie Carter with a big smile on her face watching Hogan return to the ring.

Backstage: Back to 2011 with Kurt Angle screaming at Bischoff that he wants to take care of things with Jeff Hardy himself. Bischoff told Angle to allow him to get rid of Hardy.

In-ring: Bischoff came out to the ring just before the top of the hour to address Hardy. Bischoff told everyone to sit down, shut up, and take notes. Bischoff got to business and told Jeff Hardy to get down to his ring. No sign of Hardy. "Now, Jeff, now," Bischoff said. Cue up Hardy's music. Hardy slowly walked out to the ring as Bischoff sold annoyance. Bischoff said that in the 25 years he's spent in wrestling, he's been able to work with some of the greats like Verne Gagne, Wahoo McDaniel, Ray Stevens, Hulk Hogan, and Kurt Angle.

[Q5 -- second hour] Bischoff said he took advantage of his own opportunities, never let anyone down, and never dropped the ball. Unlike Jeff. Bischoff said he's one of the most-talented stars he's ever seen, but also one of the biggest screw-ups ever. Bischoff said when Hardy came to the ring at Victory Road "so pilled up," he let everyone down and should be gone from TNA. Bischoff told Hardy to "12 step his way out of the ring."

Hardy wasn't going anywhere. He said he just has one thing to say before he gets out of here. Hardy spoke with a kick to the gut, then Twist of Fate to Bischoff. "Screw you!" Hardy shouted. Gunner, apparently upset Hardy stole his catchphrase earlier in the show, was the first member of Immortal to storm the ring to chase off Hardy, who disappeared through the crowd. Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner, and Bully Ray backed up Gunner to check on Bischoff while Abyss stood around in the background.

[Commercial Break]

Backstage: Hardy told the roving cameraman that he knows he made a mistake and he's so sorry, but what Bischoff told him was wrong. He said if he's out of here, he's out of here on his terms. Back in the arena, Taz said Hardy is "straight-up pissed."

Hogan Flashback: March 3, 2011 when Hogan and Immortal addressed Dixie Carter and announced Hogan controls "100 percent" of TNA. Cue up the tears.

In-ring: Christy Hemme solemnly introduced Samoa Joe for the next match on the show. Joe strutted out to the ring as Tenay recapped Joe's anti-Bound for Glory Series tirade that included injuring Crimson. Crimson was out next for his TV return.

3 -- SAMOA JOE vs. CRIMSON

Aggressive back-and-forth early on. Crimson ducked a clothesline and t-bone suplexed Joe across the ring to the floor. On the outside, Crimson inflicted more punishment as more Hogan tweets flashed on the screen. Joe reversed the offensive advantage in his favor, flipped off the ref, and tried to re-injure Crimson's leg. Back in the ring, Joe continued to work on the lower leg. Joe applied a submission and Crimson teased tapping out, which would have ended his make-believe undefeated streak that the announcers completely missed when they could have enhanced the jeopardy Crimson faced, then Crimson suddenly rolled through into a small package for the pin and the win.

WINNER: Crimson at 5:21.

[Q6] Backstage: Bully Ray was asked about Anderson's challenge. He said Anderson is either crazy or he has big balls. He said Anderson challenging him to a Falls Count Anywhere match in Philadelphia is crazy. Ray vowed to end Anderson's career at BFG.

Still to come: Hulk Hogan retirement announcement. Up next: Roode vs. Storm.

[Commercial Break]

Backstage: The roving cameraman asked James Storm about his match against Robert Roode tonight. Storm said he's happy for Roode getting his title shot at BFG, but he's happy because he gets to prove he's one of the best wrestlers in the world.

Roode hype video: Robert Roode was shown working out in the gym to prepare for Angle. They showed old Wednesday Night PPV Era clips of Roode with big, curly hair. Roode said it's time for him and his peers to take the torch from the past era and take TNA to bigger, better place. The video transitioned to Roode walking into the Peterborough Memorial Centre to reminisce about watching hockey and pro wrestling growing up in Canada. Roode's parents were interviewed before Roode talked about no one holding him down anymore.

In-ring: James Storm was out first for the featured match of the night. Tenay described this as the final piece of the puzzle for Roode. The Beer Money music kept rolling for Roode to make his entrance. Roode slowly walked out before entering the ring to find a smiling James Storm. Tenay said it's their first-ever one-on-one match-up. Jeremy Borash handled formal ring introductions for the main event before the bell sounded at the top of the seventh quarter-hour.

[Q7]

4 -- ROBERT ROODE (241 lbs.) vs. JAMES STORM (240 lbs.)

The two men stood their ground before circling around the ring and knocking fists to begin the match. They traded holds and counters before Storm teased a superkick that Roode backed away from. Roode smiled and Storm said he missed him by that much. Roode then had his turn, nearly sneaking in a submission finisher. The two men came nose-to-nose to sell tension as TNA cut to break.

[Commercial Break]

Back from break, Tenay talked about Hogan as the Beer Money partners were tied up in the corner. Storm and Roode traded hard chops as Taz noted it's getting a little snug in the ring. Tenay then confirmed A.J. Styles vs. Daniels at Bound for Glory, and in an I Quit match. Roode and Storm continued the even match-up with an exchange of close nearfalls. The match moved to the top turnbuckle, where Storm executed a superplex that popped the crowd. Storm made a cover, but Roode escaped in time. Storm and Roode went into a counter-counter sequence before Roode slapped on a Crossface that Storm escaped via rope break.

Suddenly, the ref was bumped when all three men collided in the ring and Storm found himself on the floor. On cue, Kurt Angle hit the ringside area and threw Storm into the ring steps. Angle then rolled Storm back into the ring and ran backstage. In the ring, Roode slowly recovered, made a cover, and Storm escaped just before three. The action reset with Roode executing his Fisherman suplex finisher with a bridge pin for the win.

Post-match: Roode sold concern for Storm as he checked on him. Tenay said Angle was the difference-maker in this match-up and they don't know why Angle helped Roode.

WINNER: Roode at 14:52.

[Q8] Backstage: Hogan was shown pacing around, selling concern for his announcement up next.

[Commercial Break]

In-ring: Ten minutes before the top of the hour, Hulk Hogan's music played to bring out Hogan on-stage doing his usual poses. Hogan played to the crowd as TNA focused on various people wearing Hulkamania gear. Once in the ring, Hogan bounced around, selling excitement, before pausing for a "Hogan, Hogan" chant. Hogan said when his feet hit the ground this morning, the first thing he realized was today would be the final day he would be in the wrestling business.

Hogan continued to pander to Knoxville before talking out his post-wrestling plans. Hogan said he told some people with a ten-hour drive to Knoxville that this was indeed his final appearance. Hogan held up his Hulkamania weightlifting belt before pausing for a "Thank you, Hogan," chant. Hogan said Hulkamania could go on for another 30 years, but now it's time to put Hulkamania to rest. He said there's only one thing left to do: celebrate.

Suddenly, Sting's music interrupted. Dressed in a red suit with a yellow Hulkamania t-shirt, Sting walked out on-stage before making his way to the ring. Hogan sold that he was stunned to see Sting before telling Sting he's not welcome out here. Sting said he's really so sorry to bring some rain to this evening, but no one is buying this. Hogan said Sting needs to understand one thing that nothing lasts forever in wrestling. He said he's officially done and retired. Sting said perhaps he's just become so jaded by this business...or maybe he knows Hogan better than anyone else. Sting said it's amazing there are cameras everywhere and there's nothing sacred anymore. Sting said he'll leave after he plays the footage.

[Q9 -- over-run] Video footage: Hogan and Bischoff sitting in the bathroom talking up their plan to fake Hogan's retirement. Bischoff said he fooled everyone, including The Network. He said these hillbillies mortgaged their trailer homes to buy Hogan merchandise. Hogan mocked Knoxville as they cut to Hogan watching the footage, selling shock. Hogan called for the end of the footage as the crowd booed. Hogan told Sting he's crossed the line and broken every law in this business. "Hell no, I'll never wrestle you. But, I'll fight you at Bound for Glory!" Hogan screamed. In a red-faced rage, Hogan said that if Sting beats him, he'll give the company back to Sting and Dixie Carter. After blurting that out, Hogan covered his mouth. "Got what I wanted. Ta ta for now," Sting said into the ringside camera. Sting walked out of the ring as Tenay plugged the higher-stakes Sting-Hogan match at BFG.
