KELLER'S TNA IMPACT REPORT
JULY 15, 2010
TAPED IN ORLANDO, FLA.

[Q1]

-After a recap of highlights at Victory Road, the show was titled "They're Here." Then Mike Tenay introduced the show as the camera panned the crowd. He said it was now time to announce the updated TNA Top Ten Contenders list.

(10) Rob Terry; (9) The Pope; (8) Kurt Angle; (7) Hernandez; (6) A.J. Styles; (5) Jay Lethal; (4) Samoa Joe; (3) Mr. Anderson; (2) Jeff Hardy; (1) Abyss.

-Abyss carried his wood board with nails sticking out of it to the ring on one shoulder, with a slab of meat on the other. Abyss called out RVD. He said he has a plan for him that is unlike anything he has experienced before and is beyond extreme. He said, "I'm awaiting some final instructions from them." He then introduced his girl, Janice. He said she's beautiful, tall, sophisticated, sexy, and sharp. He said she has a dark side, too, that likes pain. He slammed the nail board into the slab of meat in the middle of the ring. He then tore into it with his teeth which drew "ewws" from the crowd. Taz and Tenay called it disgusting. He said she's a hell of a cook and before it's over, RVD will learn "what a bitch my girl is."

-Tenay threw backstage to Sarita and Taylor Wilde having a brawl backstage. Tenay said they used to be teammates, but recently Sarita accused Wilde of holding her back. He said they were scheduled to face each other in a street fight on the show. Tenay said Wilde told him she was blindsided by her change in attitude. [c]

[Q2]

1 -- TAYLOR WILDE vs. SARITA - Street Fight

The brawl backstage continued in the ring and at ringside. Wilde dropkicked Sarita at ringside, knocking her over the ring barrier. Sarita ended up choking Wilde from over the railing with a strap. Taylor passed out and the ref stopped the match.

WINNER: Sarita in 5:00.

-Rob Van Dam talked to no one in particular as he walked backstage. He said he can't be intimidated by threats, but he'd like to see Abyss try to use that board tonight. [c]

-Backstage the big-breasted Eric Bischoff assistant was yelling at someone on the phone. Kevin Nash walked in for his 9:30 appointment. She said something came up at the last second, so Bischoff and Hulk Hogan weren't available. She asked if she could help him. He began to leave, then walked back and hit on her and set something up for later.

2 -- BRIAN KENDRICK vs. DOUGLAS WILLIAMS - Non-Title I-Quit match

Williams dominated almost the entire first four minutes, but Kendrick side-stepped a charging Williams. Kendrick applied his cobra clutch and Williams quickly tapped.

WINNER: Kendrick in 4:00.

-Afterward Kevin Nash's music played and he walked to the ring. Kendrick complained about Nash interrupting his glory. Nash picked him up and chokeslammed him hard to the mat. Kendrick didn't move afterward. Taz said Kendrick was like an annoyance to him, he just swatted him. Nash said he's tired of Hogan and Bischoff dodging him. He said he can't believe he can't get TV time around here. "When Kevin Nash dies, he'll never, ever be replaced," he said. "There's only going to be one like me. Six-foot-ten, built like a God, proportionate." He added that Bischoff's assistant would find that out in a minute. He said he is a living legend and if he can't get their attention yet, maybe if he takes out a couple of their "young boys" they'll start paying attention. He lifted Kendrick. Jeff Jarrett's music played and he strode to the ring.

Jarrett told Nash to relax. He said Sting got suspended and he might be next. Nash asked what he was doing out there. Jarrett said it's not about them anymore. He said Hogan and Bischoff are getting behind Jay Lethal, not them. Nash wondered what Lethal had to do with this. He said he just wanted to get Hogan and Bischoff's attention. Jarrett said it's business as usual, with Nash wanting to be the center of attention. Jarrett called Nash a glory hound and an egotistical son of a bitch. Jarrett stared at Nash. Nash stared back, leaned in, and told Jarrett that there are a lot of people who say he's the greatest worker in the business because he always gets his way and gets his money. He said Jarrett's baby blue eyes don't fool him. He wanted to know why he'd defend Hogan and Bischoff in any way. He said if he wants trouble with him, he's got it. Nash said they can find out who the best worker is. [c]

-Backstage the roaming reporter asked Nash what he thinks of Jarrett. Nash said he doesn't get why Jarrett would defend Hogan and Bischoff after they took over his company and discarded him. He said he's maybe the smartest guy in the locker room and soon he'll find out everything he needs to know.

3 -- ROB TERRY vs. DESMOND WOLFE vs. SAMOA JOE

Terry got a ring entrance. Wolfe did not. He was already in the ring. Joe came out last. The crowd loudly chanted "Joe! Joe! Joe!" at the start. Brutus Magnus joined Taz and Tenay on commentary. He told Tenay that he has not aged well. "If you're going to have television, you need a handsome devil to sell television ratings. It doesn't get much more handsome than me," he said. He said Wolfe is a thinking man's wrestler. He said he's a big fan of Chelsea.

[Q4]

As Terry celebrated a spin kick on Wolfe, Joe nailed him with a flying kick off the ropes. Joe then choked out the dazed Wolfe for the win.

WINNER: Joe in 6:00. [c]

-The roving reporter caught up to Flair who said he will begin a new chapter with more attitude and a bigger change and send TNA in a direction that will make it bigger and bigger. Why do wrestlers, especially a heel like Flair, care about making TNA bigger and better? In the context of a wrestling show, wrestlers should care about their own success within the world that the wrestling promotion creates. They're not a team trying to win more games. They're not a member of management. A heel shouldn't care about TNA getting bigger and better, they should be focused on themselves and their success and riches.

4 -- THE MOTOR CITY MACHINE GUNS vs. BEER MONEY -- Ladder Match

Four-way action opened the match. The Guns knocked Beer Money to the floor, then dove through the ropes and knocked them into the security railing. TNA showed multiple replays. Sabin brought a ladder into the ring as Sabin held off Beer Money. Sabin climbed the ladder, but James Storm yanked him off. At 3:00 Storm and Robert Roode caught Sabin and threw him crotch-first into a ladder propped in the corner. Storm climbed the ladder, but Shelley yanked him down.

[Q5]

Shelley yanked Roode off the ladder at 5:00 and bridged another ladder off the second rope to the standing ladder. Sabin helped Shelley drop Roode face-first on the bridged ladder. Storm yanked Shelley off the ladder seconds later and then gave him a knee-driver backbreaker. Storm dropped the ladder flat on the mat and then set up a superplex on Sabin. Sabin blocked it and then hung Storm upside down and slidekicked the ladder into Storm's face. Sabin dove over the top rope onto Roode lying on a bridged ladder. The crowd chanted "TNA! TNA!" Taz challenged viewers to find action like this anywhere else on prime time TV. Sabin reached for the briefcase admist chaos in the ring. The ladder was off-center. Roode met him on the top. Sabin yanked his head into the ladder and sent him to the floor. Sabin grabbed the contract hanging over the ring. Storm hit him with the beer bottle. Earl Hebner saw Storm with the contract and awarded him the match. The starting the referee, Brian Hebner, was KO'd at ringside.

WINNERS: Beer Money in 10:00.

STAR RATING: **1/2 -- A spotfest with some dazzling athleticism. Booking this rematch so soon diminished what fans paid for on PPV on Sunday. The controversial finish was overdone and I'm not eager to see a referee-based storyline. It's distracting and rarely if ever pays off for the time invested in it.

5 -- MATT MORGAN vs. "THE POPE" D'ANGELO DINERO

Pope won quickly and cleanly. Taz declared it a big upset. What did that accomplish? It made Morgan look weak, but was just thrown out there and didn't really help Pope. It just seemed like Morgan had an off-night.

WINNER: The Pope in 1:00.

[Q6]

-Afterward Morgan attacked Pope from behind "to get his heat back." Tenay said he was furious at losing. He gave Pope his Carbon Footprint. As he set up a running kick against the ringside steps, Mr. Anderson ran out for the save with a chair in hand. Morgan stared at Anderson as Anderson slid Pope back into the ring. Tenay and Taz assumed Anderson was going to let Morgan help him beat up Pope. Anderson turned and punched Morgan, driving him out of the ring. Morgan yelled at Anderson as he walked to the back. Anderson picked up a chair, then dropped him and leaned over to help Pope up. Tenay said Anderson put Pope on the sidelines months ago, so Pope was shocked to see him come to his aid. Pope was leery and didn't shake his hand. Anderson said that was okay and understandable and left.

-Lacey Von Erich told Velvet Sky that maybe Madison Rayne might have a good reason for how she's acting. Sky complained about her acting bigger and better than them, and now accepted someone into their group without asking them first. [c]

-Rayne stood in the ring and explained the stipulations for her match on Sunday, which was that if Velvet or Lacey interfered in her match with Angelina Love, she would be DQ'd and lose the title. She said that didn't happen, yet Love was given her title. She said within seven days that decision better be reversed or she will sue TNA for every dime it's worth. (Pssst. You might want to ask for more than that.) Sky entered the ring and demanded to know why Rayne felt she could bring another member into the Beautiful People. Rayne said she must be taking dumb blond pills. Sky said she must've overdosed on hers.

[Q7]

Sky said this is about more than what happened on Sunday. It's about her saying she didn't need them anymore. Rayne affirmed her belief; "I don't need you." Sky suggested she kick her ass all over the ring right now. Lacey tried to play peacemaker. Angelina Love walked onto the ramp and said she doesn't know what's worse, the bitches who act on "The Hills" or the actors in the ring right now She said she doesn't buy anything Sky is saying. Love said she knows it was Sky driving the motorcycle. "We'd recognize those big fake boobs anywhere," Love said. Sky took offense, then said she has never been so insulted. "Did you happen to see the dumpy ass on that person. Obviously it wasn't me," Sky said. Sky turned to Rayne and told Love, "This bitch is all yours. Have at it." Sky called Love into the ring. The mysterious woman rode the motorcycle to the ring and then entered the ring and attacked Love. Rayne then DDT'd Love onto a chair in the ring.

-Backstage Jeff Hardy said Jay Lethal beat Flair, but tonight Lethal has to face him. [c]

6 -- JEFF HARDY vs. JAY LETHAL

Taz and Tenay agreed Lethal was the underdog considering Hardy's career history of big matches. Lethal dove onto Hardy at ringside at 1:00. The former ECW wrestlers walked through the crowd. The fans chanted "ECW! ECW!" Tenay announced that Kurt Angle would face Hernandez, no. 7 in the rankings next week on Impact, plus Beer Money would face The Guns in a the second match in their Best of Five series in a street fight. Lethal rallied and hit Hardy with a missile dropkick off the top rope for a two count. Hardycountered the Lethal Combination with a Twist of Fate and then hit a Swanton Bomb on Lethal for a clean win.

WINNER: Hardy in 6:00.

STAR RATING: ** -- Nice short TV match, but the as was the case from start to finish on this show, it's just too many matches thrown out there without enough context or build up and thus the loss hurts Lethal more than it does anything for Hardy. It just offsets whatever momentum Lethal might have had from beating Flair.

[Q8] [c]

-Flair said tomorrow Lethal is at the top of his list, but today he's going to announce the first two members of Fortune. He said A.J. Styles and Kazarian, who were in the ring with him, are the two initial members and the best wrestlers in TNA today. Wolfe came out and said he knows Americans don't like giving the English any credit for anything, but if anyone deserves to be in Fortune, it's him, not those two wankers. Abyss's music interrupted Flair and Wolfe arguing. He brought "Janice" (the nail board) to the ring with him. He cleared the ring as the other three ran from Janice. Then he called RVD to the ring.

Abyss told RVD that when "they" arrive "they" are taking TNA over. He said RVD, Dixie Carter, and the ignorant sheep (fans) can't stop them. Abyss said "they" have asked him to pave the way for them, and part of that is taking the TNA World Title off of him. He said they laid out a blue print and it prompts a question for RVD. He said he is going to hang Janice 15 feet above the ring and then they can have the most extreme match in the history of professional wrestling. He said they can use chairs, tacks, ladders, glass, barbed wire, whatever they want. He said Janice told him that "she wants a piece of your ass." Abyss told RVD the only thing left is the when and the where, and he suggested they get extreme.

RVD yanked the mic from Abyss and said he knows what the title means to everyone. He said he will try not to take things too personally. He said what he loves about being World Champion is the standards he gets to set against a monstrous challenge like him. He jumped Abyss with a rapid-fire attack. Abyss made a comeback with a big boot and then a chokeslam. Mick Foley then made his return. He walked onto the stage. Tenay said he hadn't seen him in months since he was fired by Bischoff. Stevie Richards, Raven, Tommy Dreamer, and Rhino jumped over the guard rail and attacked Abyss. Taz said those guys don't even work for TNA as far as he knows. Security intervened. Then the lower card wrestlers tried to run to the ring, but they were easily fought off. Kendrick and Wolfe ran out and took a beating. TNA agents D-Lo Brown, Terry Taylor, Pat Kinney, and Al Snow ran out, but Snow joined the ECW wrestlers. RVD also fought on the side of the ECW wrestlers against TNA. Some higher level TNA wrestlers ran out including Matt Morgan and Devon. Jarrett then ran out and yelled at Dreamer. They showed Dixie Carter standing at ringside looking worried. Police entered the ring and threatened wrestlers with mace. Dixie stepped onto the ramp and told everyone to stop. She said, " Listen! I invited them!" Everyone in the ring look puzzled. That was the cliffhanger.
