Former WCW wrestler Lodi (Brad Cain) knows first-hand the stress a weekly, three-hour pro wrestling TV show can place on a wrestling company - from Creative to management to agents to wrestlers to the viewing audience. In an exclusive interview on the PWTorch Livecast with PWTorch columnist Pat McNeill, Lodi detailed his first-hand experience being in the WCW locker room when Nitro went to three hours in the late 1990s and how it relates to WWE's recent shift to three hours.

"It was a long show. It's a lot to write every single week. It's way too much TV. I was hoping when they (WWE) went to three hours, they would get more guys on the show and more wrestling, but watching that Monday night with my kids I'm training here at Highspots, it felt like less wrestling than on a two-hour show. It was like they were just trying to stretch the show out," Lodi said.

"I think toward the end of WCW with Nitro with our three-hour show, it became that as well. It was like, 'What do we put here? What do we put here?' It just becomes a cluster. Two hours max and just be done."

Lodi (@Lodi1Brad) also offered his first-hand experience of WCW not having matches scheduled 15 minutes before showtime and how it affected the locker room.

"I've been on a three-hour Nitro where at 7:45 p.m., we didn't have a single match-up," Lodi said. "The board was empty. And, Arn Anderson came into the locker room and said, 'Everyone to get dressed. We don't know who's first, but everyone get dressed.' Literally at 7:50, you've got a locker room of a hundred-and-some wrestlers putting on their gear because no one knows who's working."

Lodi recalled upsetting Nitro booker Terry Taylor with a sign pointing out how often Kidman and Juventud Guerrera wrestled on WCW TV. He recalled Taylor telling him that WCW needed a dependable match to fill time while they figured out the rest of the show.

"Terry Taylor got mad at me one time holding up the sign about 'Kidman and Juventud Best of 798' because you saw those guys so many times wrestle each other," Lodi recalled. "Terry pulled me to the back when I held the sign up and he said, 'What are you doing cracking on my booking?' I'm like, 'I'm not cracking on your booking, but how many times can these guys wrestle?' He said, 'Lodi, that's one match we know we can put out there every night and get a decent match out of.' I wasn't trying to crack on the booking; it was just me being myself with my silly sign. But, that was one of their deals, like, 'We can throw Kidman and Juvi out there and that will get us started for 15 minutes. What are we going to do with the rest of the night?'"
