Dear ROH management,

Current ROH World champion Jay Briscoe has a history of making homophobic tweets. Yesterday, he made a bigoted comment on Twitter after the State of Delaware passed a bill that allows same-sex couples to get married.

“The Delaware Senate passed a bill yesterday that allows same sex couples to get married. If that makes you happy, then congratulations!!!!!!! ... try and teach my kids that there’s nothing wrong with that and I’ll f------ shoot you”

Last night, Jay tweeted the following statement before deleting his Twitter account:

“I feel very strongly about how and who should teach kids about certain things but I showed poor judgment by using that analogy and I’m sorry.”

This morning, ROH issued the following statement regarding Jay’s comments on Twitter yesterday:

“Ring of Honor Wrestling respects and appreciates every fan regardless of age, gender, race, religion or sexual preference. The recent post by Jay Briscoe does not represent the views or opinions of Ring of Honor Wrestling, its owners, management or employees.”

Two years ago, Jay tweeted the following in June 2011:

"Damn theres a lot of fags out in New York today."

Jay followed up with this tweet two months later after Hurricane Irene:

“"To all da hoes, sluts, skanks, he-shes, she-hes and homos that be whorin it up on da eastcoast... this hurricanes for you."

I have two questions for ROH management's COO Joe Koff, ambassador Cary Silkin, and head booker Hunter Johnston:

(1) Did Jay apologize for anything or to anyone that specifically might have been offended by his comments yesterday?

(2) Given Jay’s history of making bigoted comments on Twitter, is he the right person to be representing your company at this time as ROH World champion?
