WrestleCade 2013 Live Show Results
November 30, 2013
Winston-Salem, N.C.
Report by James Caldwell, PWTorch assistant editor

On the pre-show, from PWTorch columnist Pat McNeill @RealPatMcNeill...

(a) Gunner pinned Robbie E. (w/Brooke) in 7:34. Brooke nut-shotted Robbie after the match.

The live iPPV is beginning with a five-way match for the PWX Title. Adam Page and Sonjay Dutt were the first two competitors out. "Hurricane" Helms was out third, followed by Steve Corino and PWX champion Caleb Konley.

1 -- PWX champion CALEB KONLEY vs. STEVE CORINO vs. "HURRICANE" SHANE HELMS vs. SONJAY DUTT vs. ADAM PAGE -- five-way elimination match for PWX Title

Before the match started, Steve Corino cut a long promo tearing down everyone, then focusing on Helms. So, once the bell sounded, Helms choke-bombed Corino for a quick elimination, surprising Corino, who never even removed his long-sleeve t-shirt to reveal his belly. With it down to four men, they set up an early high-flying move for Helms, who gingerly climbed to the top rope and splashed Dutt, Page, and Konley on the outside.

Back in the ring, Dutt took a reverse piledriver from Page for the next elimination. Then, Helms tried another chokebomb, this time on Konley, but Konley reversed into a roll-up for a quick three count for another elimination. This brought the match down to Page vs. Konley. After a brief struggle, Konley forced Page to submit to score the win and retain the PWX Title. Afterward, Helms entered the ring and presented the title belt to Konley for a post-match celebration.

WINNER: Konley via submission in 12:00. Basic opener putting the focus on the two up-and-coming stars.

Next up was a Lumberjill match between Jillian Hall and Maria Kanellis. After a parade of women's wrestlers came to ringside, Jillian's awful WWE music played for instant heat. Next out was Maria to a babyface reaction as the announcers explained the issue between them going back to OVW. Before the match started, Maria took the mic and said she can't wrestle tonight because she's injured. Jillian responded by questioning the authenticity of her claim before knocking the lumberjills ringside. Jillian then declared herself the winner and left the ring. But, the lumberjills threw her back in the ring.

2 -- JILLIAN HALL vs. MARIA KANELLIS -- Lumerjill match

The bell sounded despite Maria's injury claim. So, Maria rolled up Jillian for a quick fall less than 30 seconds in. Afterward, Jillian sneak-attacked Maria, but Maria fought back and embarrassed Jillian to conclude the match segment.

WINNER: Maria at 0:27.

In-ring: For the next match, Daivari's music played. Out came Daivari's two handlers in over-the-top Middle Eastern garb for the easy heel heat. One handler asked the audience not to cheer "U-S-A." Ever. Stop it. Don't do it. Daivari was then introduced along with Ryan Shamrock. As the announcers added to the over-the-topness saying tongue-in-cheek that Daivari's handlers are oil tycoons who are hiding their faces to avoid ransom, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan's music played to bring out Duggan. Duggan took a victory lap, then cleared the ring with his 2x4 before Daivari entered the ring and the bell sounded.

3 -- "HACKSAW" JIM DUGGAN vs. DAIVARI (w/Ryan Shamrock and masked Oil Tycoons)

Duggan continued to threaten to use his 2x4, sending Daivari out of the ring. Daivari then re-entered the ring and the bell sounded again. Duggan paused to commend the timekeeper on his bell-ringing, then Daivari bailed from the ring again. More stalling. And a lock-up. They bounced around the ropes before Duggan demanded a clean break, but Daivari kicked him in the gut. Duggan then landed three consecutive clotheslines, which sent Daivari to the outside for another breather.

Daivari teased leaving the match, but decided to run back into the ring just before ten. Daivari then attacked Duggan's back and began working on him as the Oil Tycoons used their camel flag to choke Duggan behind the ref's back. Suddenly, an Oil Tycoon's voice came over the PA system threatening to kill Duggan if the fans chant "U-S-A" one more time. The fake-accented proclamation woke up the crowd, which rallied behind Duggan. Duggan then hit the three-point stance and clotheslined Daivari for a three count and the win.

WINNER: Duggan at 7:18.

Next up was the Tag Team gauntlet match. First out were The Headbangers, then Rock N' Roll Express with Jimmy Valiant.

4a -- THE HEADBANGERS vs. ROCK N' ROLL EXPRESS (w/Jimmy Valiant) -- Tag Team Gauntlet match

Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson double-teamed Headbanger Trasher early on as the announcers speculated on RNR's strategy at this stage of their careers. They settled on "guile" being RNR's key asset tonight. Morton then Ricky-Rolled to the corner to tag in Gibson, prompting the action to break down. In the confusion, Gibson rolled up Mosh for a three count.

ELIMINATION: Headbangers out at 6:19.

4b -- ROCK N' ROLL EXPRESS (w/Jimmy Valiant) VS. GEORGE SOUTH & MANNY FERNANDEZ -- Tag Team Gauntlet match

George South and Manny Fernandez were out next to confront RNR. Lots of stalling before the bell sounded. South and Fernandez worked heel by slowing down the pace to wear down RNR in their second match of the night. Gibson then made a comeback and scored a roll-up pin for the next victory.

ELIMINATION: South & Fernandez out at 14:00 total.

4c -- ROCK N' ROLL EXPRESS (w/Jimmy Valiant) vs. BUFF BAGWELL & RICK STEINER -- Tag Team Gauntlet match

The WCW Nitro theme song brought out Bagwell and Steiner for the next gauntlet match. Bagwell opened things up wrestling in a Wolfpack NWO t-shirt without a pre-match strutting session. Rick Steiner, wrestling in an over-sized pajama t-shirt, became enraged by Valiant interfering from the outside. Bagwell then tagged in Steiner, who went through a slow-motion attack on RNR, including a Steinerline to Morton. After the ref was taken out, Steiner came off the second rope with a bulldog to Morton, who sold a neck injury. Referee Tommy Young then entered the ring to render a three count for Steiner on Morton.

ELIMINATION: RNR out at 19:13 total.

4d -- BUFF BAGWELL & RICK STEINER vs. POWERS OF PAIN (BARBARIAN & WARLORD w/Kevin Sullivan) -- Tag Team Gauntlet match

Next out were the Powers of Pain. Kevin Sullivan needed an extra beat or two to make his way to ringside in jogging clothes, drawing an angry response from Steiner. Once things settled down, the match started with Barbarian clotheslining Bagwell to the mat. Powers of Pain continued to work on Bagwell as the announcers discussed Sullivan's work-out attire. Bagwell then stumbled into a clothesline on Barbarian to get a breather and tag in Steiner. But, after chaos broke out, Barbarian destroyed Bagwell with a big boot for a three count.

ELIMINATION: Bagwell & Steiner at 29:53 total.

4e -- POWERS OF PAIN (BARBARIAN & WARLORD w/Kevin Sullivan) vs. DEMOLITION (AX & SMASH) -- Tag Team Gauntlet match

Demolition were out next for a big-man battle. In slow-motion. The announcers hyped it, though, as wrestling history coming to life on Internet PPV in 2013. Also discussed was the lack of adjectives attached to wrestler's names in pro wrestling today. This is a problem. Once the action got started, the match turned into a brawl on the outside. The ref then called for the bell, throwing out both teams. More chaos ringside that went all the way up the entrance ramp to the back. This left the final two teams for the gauntlet finale.

ELIMINATION: Powers of Pain and Demolition both out at 37:48 total.

4f -- CAPRICE COLEMAN & CEDRIC ALEXANDER vs. BRAVADO BROTHERS -- Tag Team Gauntlet Finals

The Bravado Brothers came through the crowd to jump C&C from behind to jumpstart the match. After the Bravados took control on the outside, C&C finally got in some offense in the ring. But, the Bravados cut them off again to begin wearing down Cedric. After a few minutes of selling, Cedric made it to his corner to tag in Coleman, who executed a double Northern Lights suplex to pop the crowd.

But, the Bravados weathered the storm and began a sustained attack on Coleman. Chaos broke out again before Harlem tried a roll-up with a handful of trunks, but Coleman escaped. Coleman then tagged in Alexander, who cleaned house. Alexnader nailed a split-legged moonsault on Harlem, but he kicked out just before three.

More back-and-forth ensued between the two tag teams. Harlem landed a Bicycle Kick, but missed with a second when Cedric ducked. Everyone down as the ref applied a ten count. The Bravados gained the advantage after the reset and C&C combined for a huracanrana into a top-rope frogsplash for Caprice to score the pin and the win. Afterward, the Bravados entered the ring to shake hands with C&C to adhere to the Code of Honor.

WINNERS: C&C at 58:02 total. Good final five minutes delivering some high-energy action after the first portion focused more on seeing wrestling legends go through a nostalgic exhibition.

[15-minute Intermission]

Back from break, C.W. Anderson was introduced to the ring flanked by J.J. Dillon and Steve Corino. Tommy Dreamer was out next to face Anderson in an I Quit match. Justin Credible was out next as the special referee.

5 -- TOMMY DREAMER vs. C.W. ANDERSON (w/J.J. Dillon and Steve Corino) -- special referee Justin Credible -- I Quit match

Dreamer tried to get Anderson to quit early on by ringing his bell with the ringbell, but Anderson refused to quit. On the outside, Anderson used the contents of a beverage to temporarily blind Dreamer, but he refused to quit. Anderson then worked on the left arm back in the ring. Next, Anderson pulled out a chair from the crowd and drove one of the legs into Dreamer's throat to attempt to get Dreamer to quit, but no dice.

Dreamer then made a comeback by dropkicking the chair into Anderson's head, drawing blood from Anderson's forehead. Dreamer tried to get Anderson to quit with a cheese grater, but Anderson refused to give it up. Dreamer tried a DDT on the grater, but Anderson blocked and slammed Dreamer onto the grater. Anderson cut open Dreamer's forehead, then Dreamer jiggled across the ring ropes to sell the effects.

Credible was bumped on an incidental kick to the head, then Dreamer took advantage with a DDT into a figure-four leglock. Anderson, bleeding, sold the effects before tapping out, but Credible was still down. Credible then woke up, grabbed the mic, and confronted Dreamer. Credible then kicked Dreamer and the beat down was on. But, Dreamer jiggled out of the way of a superkick from Credible and Corino took it instead. Anderson tried to follow up, but Dreamer overcame the impossible odds to drive a spike into Anderson's head. Anderson had enough and gave up. Despite the lack of a ref, a decision was rendered due to Anderson's verbal submission. Credible was too late to re-enter the ring and call off the result as Dreamer left the ring to celebrate.

WINNER: Super Dreamer at 15:31.

Next was some raffle business for the live crowd while the WrestleCade Title was suspended in the air above the ring for the main event.

Before the main event, Jonny Fairplay was introduced to the ring. Fairplay, wearing a wild tiger-striped suit, tie, and jacket, entered the ring to boos. Carlito's music played to bring out one-half of the main event, introduced by Fairplay as the 187th best wrestler of all-time.

Fairplay then cut a promo about his claim to fame lying about his grandmother on "Survivor." But, he has three promises for tonight. One, Carlito will beat Matt Hardy. Two, Fairplay will leave with Hardy's wife (Reby Sky) and make her a real woman. And, three, someone in the match will be spanked. Matt Hardy's WWE music then played to bring out Hardy and Reby Sky.

6 -- MATT HARDY (w/Reby Sky) vs. CARLITO (w/Jonny Fairplay) -- Ladder match for WrestleCade Title

Clean action to start. Carlito then dropped the nice-guy act and began working over Hardy. The ladder came into play on the outside, where Hardy avoided a baseball slide kick and jabbed Carlito in the gut with it. Hardy then tried to climb the ladder back in the ring, but Carlito cut him off. Hardy came back with a ladder jab to the gut before tossing weapons into the ring. Hardy then tried to climb the ladder again, but Carlito pushed him off and Hardy went crotch-first into the top rope, concerning Sky.

At 9:00, Carlito began re-arranging the weapons as Hardy continued to sell the effects of the crotch injury. Fairplay then choked Hardy from the outside, drawing over Reby with a chair in-hand to scare off Fairplay. Back in the ring, Carlito tried a suplex onto the ladder, Hardy blocked, Hardy blocked again, and Carlito scored with a suplex into the ladder on his next attempt. Another ladder was used to Carlito's advantage to crack Hardy's back, but Hardy came back with a back drop that sent Carlito crashing through the ladder.

After a reset, Reby and Fairplay found themselves in the ring. Carlito vowed to hit Reby while Fairplay hit her, but Reby ducked and Fairplay ate apple from Carlito. Reby then slapped Carlito and low-blowed Fairplay. Next, Reby gave Fairplay a wedgie and a spanking, fulfilling one of Fairplay's promises. After the chaos, Hardy dropped Carlito with the Side Effect. He then climbed the working ladder, but Carlito smashed him with a chair. Carlito was slow to follow up, allowing Hardy to give Carlito the Twist of Fate into a chair.

Reset at 24:00 with both men climbing opposite sides of the working ladder. They battled on top of the ladder, both men got their hands on the belt, but Hardy grabbed the belt to smash Carlito in the face, sending Carlito off the ladder down to the mat. Hardy reached up and grabbed the WrestleCade Title to win the match.

WINNER: Hardy at 24:41 to capture the WrestleCade Title.

Post-match: Hardy and Reby celebrated before Hardy climbed back up the ladder to celebrate his title victory. From ringside, a voice was heard. Out came PWX champion Caleb Konley, who heelishly addressed Hardy. Konley invited Hardy to a PWX show, then handed him the mic. Hardy said it's rude of Konley to interrupt their celebration because Konley is a "disrespectful little prick."

Konley responded that he didn't mean to disrespect him, which prompted Hardy to tell Konley to hold up his title, face the hard camera, and have a big champion vs. champion showdown. Hardy vowed to kick his ass, then Konley told Hardy to put up his title on February 15 in Winston-Salem, N.C. Hardy accepted and told Konley he has a Twist of Fate coming his way. Konley offered a handshake, which Hardy accepted. Konley told Hardy to go back to his celebration before leaving the ring. Hardy thanked the crowd for supporting wrestling in North Carolina before celebrating with the title one more time in the ring. That concluded the show.
