Ring of Honor "Boiling Point" iPPV Report
August 11, 2012
Providence, R.I.
Report by Sean Radican, PWTorch columnist

Way more people here than I expected, maybe 400-500. Bobby Cruise announced they are working on return to Providence. Matches taped tonight will air on ROH TV.

Dark Match: Bravados beat Jorge Santi & Matt Sydal in a tag match. Bravados won with a tandem neckbreaker on Sydal.

(1) Roderick Strong beat Mike Mondo with a sick kick. Fantastic opening match. (***1/2)

(2) Q.T. Marshall beat Matt Taven, Antonio Thomas, and Vinny Marseglia in a four-way match for an ROH contract. Marshall pinned Taven for the win and a contract. Okay. (**)

(3) ROH TV champion Adam Cole beat "Brutal" Bob Evans in a Proving Ground match. Solid match. One loud fan was complaining about the match being too slow over and over.

Mike Bennett and Maria tried to attack Cole afterward, but Sara Del Rey and Eddie Edwards made the save.

Before the next match, Truth Martini said Rhino will bring home the ROH Title at Death Before Dishonor next month and Strong & Elgin will prove they are on the same page because they will win the Tag Titles in Toronto in October.

(4) Charlie Haas beat "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin. Haas won with a roll-up after Strong distracted Elgin for the 60th time during the match.

(5) The Briscoes beat Jimmy Jacobs & Steve Corino. The crowd went nuts for the Briscoes. Jay took a beating, then the Briscoes won with a Doomsday Device on Jacobs. (***1/4)

(6) Jay Lethal beat Tommaso Ciampa in a 2/3 Falls match. Lethal won the first fall very quickly after R.D. Evans's interference backfired. Ciampa won the second fall with Project Ciampa. Lethal won the third and decisive fall with a handspring Lethal Injection after a low blow. Great stuff. (***1/2)

(7) Eddie Edwards & Sara Del Rey beat Mike Bennett & Maria in a mixed tag match. Edwards tapped Bennet after Del Rey stripped Maria of her top. The crowd was hot for the match. (***1/4)

Of note, I'm standing now because the kid next to me puked all over the place. The kid then pissed himself. I did get my are mopped.

(8) ROH champion Kevin Steen beat Eddie Kingston to retain the ROH World Title. Steen won with an F5 through two chairs. Crazy match. (***3/4)

Afterward, Steen punched a kid right in the face and he bled from the mouth. Another kid also got knocked out. They were not plants. I was a foot away and one dude got knocked out and the second one got clocked, too. I didn't see what the fans did to cause Steen to do what he did, but I'm pretty sure he could have just walked away. Two people got hurt badly.
