By Wade Keller, PWTorch editor

- I’m sure that was an emotional moment for Jake Roberts to be back on Raw in the main event segment with all that he’s been through. It was a real show of confidence by WWE to give him that “moment” on the show with The Shield. Obviously, they had all day to make sure Jake was sober and of sound mind, and assess (with help from DDP) whether he could handle the pressure of being live on national TV again.

- I was curious how they’d play the rationale for Daniel Bryan joining the Wyatt Family. Michael Cole didn’t really have anything to add so it still doesn’t really make any sense. It felt a bit like a funeral for something fans really, really loved the better part of the last year. Fans in that arena bought tickets expecting to participate in yelling “Yes! Yes!” and cheering Bryan, and instead they were stuck with a guy in a trance who lost all of everything that made him so popular. Bryan is going to be good at being an aggressive heel, because he’s good at everything he does, but it doesn’t make it the right move for him or the fans.

- What a contrast it is to see Goldust, who easily could have been standing backstage with the old-timers making weird noises as Big E. Langston walked by, instead wrestling in the ring in the best shape of his life.

- I’ve finally figured out Brock Lesnar’s facial expressions. He always looks like he’s feeling regretful over doing something really awful a few minutes earlier and trying to reconcile it in his mind.

- I love clever wording. Michael Cole explained that Jerry Lawler was under the weather, and then said rumors were spreading all over the Internet that he had heart issues, but he can report his heart is fine. Not exactly a denial he had heart issues. Then they managed to use the Lawler health scare as a way to get people to download and visit the app. Not exactly “Mean” Gene Okerlund 900 number level sleazy, but let’s leave keep health updates and app plugs separate, please.

- It’s actually sad that Okerlund is now known for his WCW 900 number updates. He had a full career of valuable contributions, especially his AWA interviewer work, before the WCW 900 pitchman gig. Okerlund delivered his Hotline joke on-stage, but the crowd didn’t know what the joke was. Okerlund, I think, took solace in the crowd having no idea what that whole bit was about.
