Pro Wrestling Torch was established in 1987 by Wade Keller. One of the primary traits PWTorch has been credited with over the years is assembling the best and most diverse staff of columnists with broad knowledge, but also areas of specialty where they have a particularly strong grasp of history. Every day PWTorch.com presents that team of writers answering your questions, some of which are fact-based and others of which are opinion-based. Either way, we've got you covered with Bruce Mitchell, Pat McNeill, Sean Radican, Greg Parks, James Caldwell, and Wade Keller. Collectively they have over 80 years working for the Torch, writing about wrestling and studying industry history and trends.
If you have a question you'd like us to respond to, send your question to askpwtorch@gmail.com. I, along with the Torch staff, will address you questions in this feature and also the “Ask PWTorch: All-Star Panel” edition which is also published most days here at PWTorch.

PWTorch reader Matt from Sydney, Australia asks: How do you feel about an NXT Title match being included on a WrestleMania?
PWTorch columnist Greg Parks answers: While it would almost certainly increase the match quality on a WrestleMania card, and I think NXT could and maybe even should have some kind of presence at WrestleMania, I'd be really hesitant to put an NXT Title match on a show. How would the hype work? Would it be an unannounced bonus? Would they build the match on Raw or Smackdown, or just NXT TV? How would the main roster wrestlers, already upset over Vince McMahon's comments on Steve Austin's podcast, view NXT wrestlers vaulting over them for a spot on Mania? There are lots of things to consider before putting an NXT Title Match on that particular show.
PWTorch editor Wade Keller answers: The more separate NXT can be kept from the WWE main roster shows the better for everyone, especially NXT. NXT is a mix of an alternative universe brand with wrestlers doing their thing without Vince McMahon meddling (don’t mess with that) and a developmental system where wrestlers are supposedly not ready yet but getting ready to jump to the main roster. As Sami Zayn said in a recent interview, he’d rather his WM match be a result of earning a spot on the roster and fans knowing him and having a feud or storyline as a backstory for his match. Just being thrown out there as an NXT novelty without context can backfire. Also, yes, it would mean bumping a main roster match off of the WM card and that could build resentment. Let’s keep NXT and WWE as separate as possible. Remember what happened to Charlotte on Raw?

PWTorch reader R. Jack asks: Whatever resulted from the Teddy Long heart attack angle? All I remember is Smackdown ending with a plot twist wedding.
PWTorch columnist Greg Parks answers: Nothing resulted because Kristal Marshall, whom he was supposed to marry, abruptly left WWE in the middle of the storyline. My recollection is she was supposed to be revealed as having caused Teddy's heart attack. Because, you know, women are crazy. And evil.

PWTorch reader Matt from Brisbane, Australia asks: Hi guys. I have a really important NXT question. Why does Bull Dempsey shave his legs but not his chest? Keep up the great work. :)
PWTorch columnist Greg Parks answers: I think someone needs to redefine their idea of "really important."
PWTorch editor Wade Keller answers: I hadn’t noticed, but maybe he tapes his legs and doesn’t want to rip hair off of them when removing tape, and maybe his hairy chest fits his gimmick and has no drawbacks. That’s my best guess. This is why I’ve covered pro wrestling as a career for 27 years.

PWTorch reader John L., U.S. Army asks: With Dolph Ziggler’s current run, what do you think about a Ziggler vs. Randy Orton feud for the IC Title once Orton returns? I think it’d be pure beneficial for Ziggler and the IC belt.
PWTorch columnist Greg Parks answers: After this question was asked, Ziggler lost the I.C. Title to Bad News Barrett on Raw. Even before that, while I believe Ziggler vs. Orton could be a quality feud, I think Orton would be better served in the main event scene rather than in a storyline where he battles for a secondary belt. His return should be a big deal and inject new life into the battle with The Authority.
PWTorch editor Wade Keller answers: This question is a little dated now, but I would like to see more matches between upper-mid-carders and solid top tier wrestlers. I think it gives a sense of upward mobility to wrestler not in the top tier, and a risk of dropping down to top tier guys. It’s part of the “sports feel” of WWE that isn’t as featured as it should be. It’s not a huge gap between Ziggler and Orton, though, on the depth chart. Those would be good matches, but I’d want there to be a solid story behind it. If Ziggler were to turn heel, and Orton stay face, I’d like to see a full-fledged feud. Orton vying for the IC Title would be a way to elevate that belt, also, if that’s even a consideration of Vince McMahon at this point. I’d like to see Orton in fresher situations than feuding with The Authority. At this stage of his career, he could really help solidify or elevate wrestlers at that Ziggler level. A Wade Barrett feud with Orton could work, too.
