Update: WWE has officially announced Shawn Michaels as Guest GM for the tour of Australia in August.

Michaels will replace Hulk Hogan for dates of August 6 in Brisbane, Australia, Aug. 7 in Melbourne, and Aug. 8 in Sydney.

Shawn Michaels is scheduled to replace Hulk Hogan on WWE's upcoming tour of Australia, reports the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper. WWE has not made the change official.

Hogan was the headline act scheduled to play a GM role on the three-show tour of Australia in August. However, WWE pulled Hogan after severing ties with Hogan last week following racially-driven rants from 2006 becoming public knowledge.

The Herald also reported on ticket-buyers seeking refunds after spending hundreds of dollars on tickets to see Hogan, including VIP packages.

"I'm so sorry Australia I will miss u and really wanted to be there 4 u as the WWE general manager,I will be back soon,only loveHH," Hogan tweeted Monday.

From a marketing perspective, WWE changed how the tour is being promoted after Hogan's likeness was removed from billboards and other advertising material.

The Herald reported: "On Tuesday a billboard featuring Hogan and Hulkmania as the top drawcard remained outside the Qantas Credit Union Arena, advertising the show on August 8. By Wednesday morning however, Hogan's image was discarded on the floor as workers swapped the poster for a generic venue advert.

The current advertised roster includes top star John Cena, WWE World Hvt. champion Seth Rollins, and Randy Orton.

Plus, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, IC champion Ryback, NXT champion Finn Balor, King Barrett, Divas champion Nikki Bella with Brie Bella, and local star Emma.
