This Week's WWE Stock Track

- Friday, July 24: Closing Price of $16.60 per share, down 3.6 percent from Thursday.

The stock peaked at $17.64 early Friday morning, then steadily dropped off the remainder of the day, losing a full dollar.

On Saturday, Forbes published a report linking the stock decline to news about WWE severing ties with Hulk Hogan over Hogan's 2006 racist remarks going public, saying investors lost $50 million on Friday.

However, WWE's decline followed the path of the overall NASDAQ market, which was down one full percent on Friday after steadily declining throughout the afternoon.

Caldwell's Analysis: Historically, it is unusual for a significant number of investors to react to day-to-day WWE operations, unless it's financial reporting day or the day after WrestleMania. There are some investors who likely acted upon the Hogan/WWE news, but it's presumptuous for Forbes to headline with: "Hulk Hogan Controversy Costs WWE $50 Million," especially when looking at WWE's daily trend following the same path as the overall market.

- Thursday, July 23: Closing Price of $17.23 per share, down two percent from Wednesday.

The stock actually climbed as high as $17.95 per share, setting a new high-point for the year. But, the stock fell back to the $17-level by the end of trading.

- Wednesday, July 22: Closing Price of $17.61 per share, up two percent from Tuesday.

The stock peaked at $17.64, again coming close to the 2015 high-point.

- Tuesday, July 21: Closing Price of $17.23 per share, up two percent from Monday.

The stock climbed as high as $17.46, within a half-dollar of the 2015 high-point.

- Monday, July 20: Closing Price of $16.89 per share, down slightly from $16.93 per share last Friday.

The stock peaked at $17.00 and only dipped as low as $16.77, so there was little movement to start the week.

2015 Low - $9.82 (Jan. 20 - 52-week low)
