Booker T, who is on the cast of "Tough Enough" that previously included Hulk Hogan, weighed in on Hogan's racially-driven comments from 2006 that came to light on Friday.

"20 years ago I made a huge mistake by saying something I shouldn't have on National TV," Booker opened on Twitter, referring to his infamous WCW TV promo letting the n-word slip in a promo, coincidentally aimed at Hogan's character.

"It's 2015 and the n-word should be eradicated from the English language in my opinion.

"I am shocked by the statements made by Hulk Hogan. It's unfortunate, but that's something that he's going to have to deal with."

WWE severed ties with Hogan late Thursday. According to a TMZ report, WWE became privy to a transcript of Hogan's racially-driven comments from a tape containing sexual acts between Hogan and Heather Clem, the ex-wife of radio host Bubba the Love Sponge.

The transcript reported by the National Enquirer centers on a disturbing conversation between Hogan and Heather discussing Brooke's dating life, including Brooke romantically involved with an African-American. When the tape came to light in 2012, Hogan claimed in interviews that he was "messed up" at the time because his marriage to now-ex-wife Linda Bollea was failing and he was at a low point in his life. WWE said in a statement Friday: "WWE terminated its contract with Terry Bollea (a/k/a Hulk Hogan). WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers, and fans worldwide."

Booker was also at the center of a controversial promo on WWE TV about a decade ago. WWE CEO Vince McMahon, who was playing the character of an out-of-touch boss trying to act hip, approached John Cena to talk about his title run. Cena, who was doing the "thug life" gimmick at the time, said he was trying to take care of business as champ.

"Keep it up, my n----," McMahon's character replied to Cena, thinking he sounded hip. McMahon then walked past Booker T and Sharmell, cheerfully addressing them: "Book, Sharmell." Booker's character was then scripted to angrily offer his catchphrase: "Tell me he did not just say that."

Since Hogan's comments came to light, Hogan has tried to manage the outrage that has followed with a series of Twitter posts.

Hogan replied to Twitter followers with comments like "that's not who I am," "I still got love for you, and the black community still does," "my God is a God of forgiveness," and "only love for you."

Hogan also replied to Tough Enough cast member Tanner, who said Hogan has "been an idol to me since day one." Hogan wrote back: "Thank you my brother, keep working hard you have what it takes,I'm rooting for you ,only love. HH."
