"Stone Cold" Steve Austin says he had nothing to do with Roddy Piper leaving their shared podcast outlet, addressing rumors of problems between the two sides.

In the latest edition of the "Steve Austin Show," Austin said there was a Piper podcast 3-5 months ago that included a questionable impersonation of Austin by comedian Will Sasso. Austin says he asked for the podcast to be removed, it was, and he considered the matter resolved. He also explained why he did not appreciate the impersonation.

"I didn't like the podcast. It had some business of a personal nature that I didn't care to have floating around out there in cyberspace. So, I had it removed from rotation. I went down my road, Roddy went down his road, and we kept podcasting. Now all of a sudden I get blamed for his departure from Podcastone, which couldn't be further from the truth," Austin said.

As for why Piper left their shared outlet, Podcastone, Austin says Piper requested a meeting with the president of Podcastone. In the meeting, Piper said he did not want to have a podcast anymore, according to the president relaying the conversation to Austin.

"Roddy requested a meeting with the president of Podcastone and expressed that he was no longer interested in doing a podcast with the Podcastone network and he wanted to focus on other things in his life. There were some other details in there, which I will not divulge," Austin said, noting Piper and the president shook hands and Piper left the meeting amicably.

"For the blame to be placed in my lap that I ran him off or had him intimidated or had anything to do with him leaving is totally false. He asked for a meeting, he got the meeting. It is what it is," Austin said.

Austin closed his podcast: "To Roddy, you're one of the all-time greats in the business of professional wrestling. To that, no hard feelings. I don't want a back-and-forth on this. Closed book. What I've spoken is the bottom line and the truth. I had nothing to do with Roddy Piper leaving Podcastone. End of story."

Austin opened the podcast by noting that he was caught off-guard by reports of Piper blaming Austin for "losing his podcast."

"It was a little bit of a disturbing day today (Monday) because I found out that the word on the street was that Steve Austin had gotten Roddy Piper fired from Podcastone for one of the podcasts he did. And those rumors are all over the Internet. (Before that) today was a great day for me because they announced that I was going to be on the cover of the 'WWE 2K16' video game. I'm so proud of that," Austin said.

"When I started reading all of this, I was so confused and conflicted of why and how all this went down. I read more about it and I'm thinking, 'This couldn't be further from the truth.'"

Austin talked up Piper as a legend who he respects tremendously. "There's no heat there. There's no nothing. I got a lot of respect for the career that Roddy Piper had inside the squared circle. The stories about me getting him fired from Podcastone.com? Not true."
