WWE Raw TV news & notes 7/6

-- John Cena retained the U.S. Title against Cesaro in a 30-minute TV main event.

Kevin Owens initially accepted Cena's U.S. Title Open Challenge, but Cesaro interrupted to request a re-match after Owens interrupted Cesaro's title shot against Cena last week on Raw.

Cena won clean at 30:05, then Owens ran down to the ring to try to attack Cena, but Cena cleared him from the ring to close the show. Cena-Owens III for the U.S. Title takes place next Sunday at the Battleground PPV.

Also, WWE highlighted Owens losing the NXT Title to Finn Balor two days ago on the Network special from Tokyo, Japan.

-- Brock Lesnar returned to TV in an emphatic way by destroying the Cadillac gifted to Jamie Noble & Joey Mercury of the heel Authority faction. Lesnar tried to chase down WWE World Hvt. champion Seth Rollins, but Rollins left the arena. Rollins-Lesnar for the WWE World Title takes place next Sunday at the Battleground PPV.

-- Dolph Ziggler was stretchered out of the building after selling a neck/throat injury at the hands of Rusev. Rusev revealed that he was healed from his ankle injury and jabbed Ziggler with a crutch, drawing out paramedics. WWE's fictional injury update is that Ziggler was transported to a local medical facility.

-- Randy Orton returned to Raw after a brief hiatus. Orton attacked Sheamus to resume their feud and likely set up a match at the Battleground PPV.

-- Dean Ambrose returned to in-ring action by squashing Bo Dallas as WWE looks to re-establish Ambrose after finishing a title feud with Rollins.

-- Triple H of The Authority appeared in one backstage segment addressing Rollins. Stephanie McMahon did not appear on Raw.

-- No matches or segments were announced for Smackdown.
