Update: The Associated Press updated its initial report on WWE filing a lawsuit in Connecticut federal court seeking to block concussion-related lawsuits. Included are quotes from WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt, comments from attorney Konstantine Kyros representing former wrestlers suing WWE, and WWE Hall of Famer Blackjack Mulligan.

McDevitt said of Kyros in his comments to the AP: "Before this guy started trolling around looking for people to sue, we didn't have one person, none, claiming they had any kind of traumatic brain injuries, or dementia, or ALS or any of the kind of stuff you seek associated with the NFL."

The AP did not report whether McDevitt addressed WWE star Chris Benoit, whose CTE brain condition was discovered after he committed suicide in June 2007.

Kyros countered that he believes WWE is trying to "prevent some of the most storied performers in the history of the organization from having their day in court" by lumping the individual lawsuits into one case in federal court.

Kyros also addressed WWE claiming that the statute of limitations has expired on wrestlers claiming health-related injuries. Kyros said he believes the statute of limitations does not apply when medical conditions arise years after the events that caused them, which links to former NFL players suing the NFL over head injuries from decades ago.

The AP also quoted Blackjack Mulligan on his battle with dementia and blood-clotting in his brain. Mulligan also said his son, Barry Windham, has developed "serious problems," which he believes are "related to his numerous head injuries."

"They really don't want to face it," said Mulligan. "They want to send everyone to rehab. But rehab doesn't work for loss of memory. And my son, you look at him and the lights are on, but nobody is home anymore."

WWE filed a lawsuit in federal court on Monday seeking to defend the company against concussion-related lawsuits filed over the past year.

WWE is looking to "block lawsuits by former wrestlers who claim they have suffered long-term health problems from concussions they received in the ring," reports the Associated Press.

According to the AP Report, WWE's main defenses are (a) the claims are fraudulent and (b) a statute of limitations has expired.

Several individual suits have been filed against WWE over the past year. WWE is asking a judge to move all of the suits against the company to federal court on their home turf in Connecticut.

Notably, WWE referenced a lawsuit from WWE Hall of Famer Blackjack Mulligan in their legal filing. According to the suit, Mulligan filed suit against WWE because he feels "abandoned by WWE" in his battle with dementia and blood-clotting in his brain.

The AP also reported that Koko B. Ware and "Dynamite Kid" Tom Billington have filed suits against WWE.
