WWE Raw TV news & notes 5/11

- For the second consecutive week, Raw closed with Dean Ambrose standing tall heading into the four-way WWE World Title match at the Payback PPV on Sunday. Ambrose, in his hometown of Cincinnati, hit Dirty Deeds on Roman Reigns to be the last man standing after World champion Seth Rollins was taken out and Reigns took out Randy Orton.

- Daniel Bryan returned to Raw TV to relinquish the Intercontinental Title and tease that his future in wrestling is in question. Bryan said he might return to action in weeks, months, or never following his latest injury.

- Triple H returned to TV for the opening segment trying to get WWE World Hvt. champion Seth Rollins and Kane on the same page in The Authority. Hunter then booked top matches for the show.

- John Cena retained the U.S. Title after Rusev interrupted Cena's weekly title defense against Neville. Neville potentially had the match won with the Red Arrow, but Rusev ran into the ring to attack both wrestlers before a count was rendered, preventing Cena from losing the U.S. Title before Rusev challenged Cena for the title at Payback on Sunday.

- Following up on Sami Zayn challenging Cena for the U.S. Title last week on Raw, WWE hyped the Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn NXT Title match on WWE Network on May 20, making it seem like Zayn will be ready to compete despite a shoulder injury.

- Tamina returned to in-ring action with a singles victory over Brie Bella.

- Curtis Axel and Damien Sandow formed a new duo based on imitating Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage. Also in the tag division, WWE is going forward with Luke Harper & Erick Rowan reuniting.

- Advertised for Thursday's Smackdown: Kane vs. Roman Reigns in a match where there must be a winner.
