Kurt Angle says his 2014 free agency period never reached the point of an official meeting with WWE CEO Vince McMahon or top executive Triple H.

Reasons could be WWE wants to get younger, they did not want to offer another part-time contract, they see Kurt Angle as having too much baggage from his past health issues in the company, or a combination of other factors, but Angle says it "blew my mind" that WWE was not interested.

“Paul (Levesque) is in charge," Angle told SI.com in a new interview. "I found that out when I contacted Vince. I’ve always had a good relationship with Paul, so I didn’t consider that a problem. But he decided they had enough talent."

Angle added: "For the Vince McMahon who I knew, enough was never enough. He always wanted more. I don’t know what was going on over there, but they even canceled our meeting. I never went to see them. They didn’t even sit me down and talk to me."

If age was the biggest issue, Angle, 46, added another slight dig at Hunter: "I don’t know if they just thought I was too old, but obviously they’re not watching our product. Triple H is the same age as me."

Hunter, 45, just competed at WrestleMania against Sting, someone who recently left TNA for WWE. Angle says he wanted to follow a similar path to wrestle the likes of Daniel Bryan, Rusev, or even Brock Lesnar again.

“Will I ever go back? I really don’t care. I’m happy to be here in TNA," Angle said, sounding somewhat disrespected. "It was as if I was a nobody, that I wasn’t Kurt Angle. From a wrestling standpoint, they just weren’t interested."

Now, Angle is focused on having good matches in TNA, where he feels that Dixie Carter was loyal to him despite his desire to return to WWE for a final career run.
