WWE NEWS: Break Down of Network subscriber count based on new information - unofficial Network total, domestic vs. int'l, more

Based on new WWE Network data released Tuesday, the unofficial Network subscriber count is 1,001,470.

This is based on WWE reporting a 37 percent increase in total subscribers from the end of Third Quarter 2014, which was 731,000 subscribers.

WWE reported a 24 percent increase in domestic subscribers, which puts the total at 871,720 compared to 703,000 domestic subs at the end of Q3-2014, an increase of 168,720 subscribers.

This leaves the international total at 129,750, a jump of 363 percent from only 28,000 int'l subscribers at the end of the third quarter, an increase of 101,750 subscribers.

When WWE reports fourth quarter and year-end subscribers on February 12, the total will be fewer than one million, as WWE attributed the 1.0 million benchmark to "significant additions for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event," which will be counted in Q1-2015 subscriber figures.

Caldwell's Analysis: With WWE inching over the 1.0 million benchmark for the Rumble, then a significant number of upset subscribers canceling, WWE likely fell back below the benchmark. Fortunately for WWE, WrestleMania is in the First Quarter this year, so they will likely end First Quarter 2015 above the benchmark adding new subscribers for WM31. Unless there is another round of frustrated cancellations on March 29/30 to off-set Mania gains.
