Update #2: Tuesday night on Twiitter, Chris Jericho downplayed his reaction to Triple H taking a storyline-driven dig at him on Raw, 24 hours removed from tweeting a comeback to Hunter.

Responding to a tweet that labeled what Hunter said as "completely untrue and unfair," Jericho tweeted back: "No big deal. Always nice to be mentioned on Raw."

Update #1: Edge checked in with his thoughts on Triple H taking a storyline-driven dig at him Monday on Raw.

"I think everyone forgets it's entertainment. Santa isn't real either. Or the Easter Bunny(I think, rabbits are sneaky)," Edge tweeted Tuesday afternoon.

Monday night after Raw, Chris Jericho responded to Hunter's promo, where Hunter called Jericho, Edge, and Rob Van Dam capable stars, but never being "The Guy" for WWE.

"Thing is @tripleh despite ur major push, u never were either. Good luck in ur future endeavours," was the message posted on Jericho's Twitter Monday night.

Jericho added, "Time to move on guys. Bye bye @wwe! Now time for more important things...any doubt that #DayInTheLife is the best @thebeatles song ever?"

Playing a heel, Hunter made the comment lumping #1 contender babyface Daniel Bryan in the category of Jericho, Edge, and RVD. The idea was promote the storyline that Bryan is not capable of being "The Face of WWE" and WWE would be working for Ted Turner (WCW) right now if Bryan's trio of predecessors were positioned as the #1 star in the company during their heyday.

It remains to be seen if this is a way to bring Jericho back to TV for a short-term angle, a deposit made for down the line when Jericho returns to WWE TV while on-break from touring with "Fozzy," or simply a "buzzworthy" line for the heel authority figure to use that reinforced Hunter having a high opinion of himself and taking digs at fan favorites.
