WWE Int'l Tour Notes - Abu Dhabi 10/10-10/12

WWE completed a three-show tour of Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. on Saturday mainly featuring wrestlers associated with the Raw brand:

- The tour centered on the WWE Title feud of Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan. Booker T was special referee for their matches.

- Big Show, who was "fired" last Monday on Raw, was included on the tour. The storyline explanation for Show wrestling on Friday's show is that Show was given a "one night contract" to face The Shield.

- Raw GM Brad Maddox wrestled on the undercard to fill slots with a depleted roster. NXT stars Sami Zayn (El Generico) and NXT champion Bo Dallas were also included on the tour to fill slots.

- WWE is planning a return tour to Abu Dhabi. Or, using what they described as a successful tour to springboard into other Middle East tours. WWE's Live Events executive Patrick Talty noted in a local news interview that WWE was especially pleased by WWE drawing younger fans and the audience being up-to-date on storylines.

“The Middle East is a priority market for us as a company and we look to grow in this region and Abu Dhabi is a great foothold for us to launch more events. Abu Dhabi will be one of those shows that we keep doing, the demand is here and we want to keep providing our fans with that entertainment," Talty told the local "The National" publication. “It has been a very young audience and that’s what we like to see, they’ve been great. We will be back, I don’t know exactly when yet, but I can guarantee we’ll be back.”

- The tour received regular media coverage from the "The National" throughout the week. PWTorch reader Jason noted: "I read The National every day for work and they seem to be covering WWE pretty much daily lately. I bet WWE wishes they could get this kind of media exposure in the U.S."
