Despite being the night after a PPV, WWE Raw on Monday, October 7 scored a 2.65 rating, down slightly from a 2.68 rating last week leading into Night of Champions.

This was the lowest-rated Raw of the year, falling below a 2.66 rating on June 3 against a Game 7 of the NBA Playoffs.

Raw was not only opposed by Monday Night Football, but the MLB Playoffs, which drew nearly four million viewers. Football drew an okay audience of 11 million viewers.

- Raw averaged 3.706 million viewers, up 3.4 percent from last week's year-low viewership of 3.583 million viewers.

Outside of last week's episode, it was the fewest viewers since June 3.

Hourly Break Down: 3.694 million first hour viewers, an increase to 3.739 million second hour viewers, and a decline to 3.685 million third hour viewers.

- In the key demographics, Raw fell to a three-month low in males 18-34, the males 18-49 demo tied for a one-month low, and the younger audience fled Raw.

Raw scored year-lows in the males 12-34 and males 12-34 demos, which is not the result WWE is looking for when Raw's older demo is likely to flip over to football and baseball.

Caldwell's Analysis: And, cue up news of John Cena's return, which WWE hopes will breathe some life back into the younger demos. There was a chance to captivate the younger audience while Cena was away with Daniel Bryan temporarily positioned as the top babyface, but WWE never committed to going all the way with Bryan.

This week's ratings formula is a helpless feeling at the end of last week's Raw, frustration over the end to Battleground on Sunday, damage done to the roster via the McMahon Power Trip Storyline, and tough sports competition on Monday night putting WWE at the lowest ratings level of the year.
