WWE might be pushing a post-WrestleMania Youth Movement, but the McMahon Family has returned to a prominent position on WWE television in recent weeks.

It's not just a "WWE decision" to bring back Vince McMahon and Co., though. Former WWE Creative writer Chris DeJoseph says USA Network is a big cheerleader for the McMahons.

"USA Network has a huge influence on the McMahons and they were usually the ones sending emails, 'We need the McMahons in a storyline,'" DeJoseph told PWTorch editor Wade Keller on the June 21 PWTorch Livecast. "They are in love with the McMahons. That's probably why they're on TV so much right now, I would imagine."

DeJoseph cited a past example: "Vince's limo blowing up - all those kinds of things really stem from USA saying, 'We need a long-term storyline with the McMahon Family and a power struggle.'"

"They love the power for struggle for some reason," DeJoseph added. "When the McMahons are all going at each other - that's one example that sticks out in my head.

"We tried McMahon's Million Dollar Mania. That was another time where USA wanted us to involve the McMahons in some kind of stunt, so that's where Vince came up with the idea to give away $1.0 million of his own money."

The natural follow-up question is why are USA Network executives so fascinated with the McMahons? "I think that they see them as the Ewing Family in the soap opera - that's the way USA sees it," DeJoseph said.

As for the direction of the current storyline featuring Vince, Stephanie, and Triple H battling for control of Raw, DeJoseph said, "They probably have some sort of long-term plan, but then at the same time, it's probably a little mixture of Vince just changing things as he goes. That's just what I think."
