WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels says the thought of wrestling a few times per year has run through his mind since retiring in 2008, but he feels completely at-peace with being out of the wrestling business as an active competitor.

"I'm sure I could do three, four shots in a year, but I was just ready to try something else. I was full," Michaels told "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in a new episode of Austin's new podcast show. "Maybe I didn't love the business the way I supposed to - I don't know."

Asked if he experienced withdrawal after his retirement match at WrestleMania 26, Michaels said, "I didn't experience the hard thing. No (withdrawal)."

HBK added that he first felt at-peace with retirement after his first Mania match with The Undertaker at WM25 in 2009. "I don't know what the future holds, but I can tell you that after the first match with The Undertaker, driving home from Houston, I told my wife, 'You know what, that might be the one to end it on.' I don't think you can wrestle a perfect match, but I think that was probably as good as it can get."

Michaels said what convinced him to retire was that being away was "really bothering my daughter." He added, "To be honest, it was bothering me."

Overall, the majority of the interview hits on the high-points of Michaels's career, with Austin painting a broad story arc of how Michaels got into the business and then how he got out of the business.

"The job - as great as it - it keeps you so busy," Michaels said about his psyche after WM14 in 1998. "To just have time to get a hobby, not go get in the car, to just sort of do what you want, I think it was probably the first time since I thought about that since I was 19-years-old."

Michaels and Austin, who are forever connected by their WM14 match when Austin won the WWF Title and Michaels left the business for a few years, went into great detail about what led up to that match and Michaels not being in a good place at the time.

Both noted they had great, untelevised matches together early in Austin's WWF run as The Ringmaster, but their match at WM14 wasn't up-to-par with the standard they set a few years before. Michaels said of all the do-overs he could have in life, the one he would want the most is their WM14 match.

"We had ripped the ring up 100 times, then on the grand stage, it wasn't so much," Austin said. HBK added, "Even if I was the biggest prick, I knew that I could rip it and tear it up. That, more than anything, affected me and my psyche," referring to his physical condition being terrible with a badly-injured back.

Michaels said he first started to feel peace and clarity about life-after-wrestling the night after WM14 when he watched Monday's Raw from home. He said he didn't feel any anger when Triple H offered the "Michaels dropped the ball" line before introducing a new DX that included Sean Waltman, whereas Sunday night, he was mad about the simplest things.

- Also in the interview, Michaels and Austin discuss their view that the art of selling has been lost, which Austin attributed to the fast-paced nature of wrestling on TV where everyone is concerned about viewers changing the channel and Michaels attributed to many wrestlers wanting to be the hero and not wanting to sell.

Plus, Michaels goes into detail on why his wrestling school did not work out in-between his two WWF runs. Michaels attributed it to still being in a personal transition stage away from the "prick" at the end of his first major WWF run, anticipating his second WWF run, and the financial aspect of running a wrestling school.

- Michaels noted he took more pride in being Intercontinental Champion in mid-1990s WWF because that was viewed as the "real wrestler" title reserved for the hardest worker in the company. Austin said the main WWF Title was more the "commercial" title. HBK added that being IC champion was "the last title I truly enjoyed" until he returned to WWE in 2002 and won the World Title.

- Much more is contained in the interview, including HBK's upbringing, getting into wrestling because of Southwest Championship Wrestling, his hunting career after wrestling, focusing on his family, and other topics.
