WWE Smackdown TV taping results
March 12, 2013
Ft. Wayne, Ind.
Results submitted by Cohen, PWTorch correspondent

Smackdown SPOILERS 3/15

(1) Sheamus & Randy Orton beat Rhodes Scholars (Damien Sandow & Cody Rhodes). The faces hit dual finishers, with Rhodes taking the fall.

After the match, The Shield challenged Orton and Sheamus and a partner of their choosing to a match at WrestleMania.

(2) The Miz beat Darren Young via submission to the figure-four leglock. IC champion Wade Barrett was on commentary.

- Big Show wanted to be Orton and Sheamus's tag partner against The Shield, but they said they already selected Ryback.

(3) Divas champion Kaitlyn & Layla beat Tamina & Aksana. Kaitlyn had the match won, but Layla tagged herself in and pinned Aksana, continuing to build tension between Kaitlyn and Layla.

- Backstage, the Bellas attacked Cameron & Naomi.

(4) Dolph Ziggler beat WWE tag champion Kane with the Zig-Zag. Kane was distracted by Daniel Bryan and Big E. Langston brawling ringside, which led to the finish.

After the match, Big E. saved Ziggler from a chokeslam, then hit his facebuster finisher on Kane.

- Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez introduced another mock video on Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter.

- Fandango vs. The Great Khali did not happen. Fandango asked Khali to pronounce his name, so when Khali was unable to, Fandango cancelled the match.

- Backstage, Booker made The Shield vs. Sheamus, Orton, and Ryback for WM29. Shield then attacked Orton and Sheamus.

- The advertised main event of Mark Henry vs. Ryback did not happen when The Shield attacked Ryback. Ryback initially cleared the ring to square off with Henry, but Shield took out Ryback on their second attempt. Included was a Triple Powerbomb. After Shield left, Henry gave Ryback the World's Strongest Slam three times. Henry then welcomed Ryback to the Hall of Pain, continuing to build to a future singles match.

(5) Jack Swagger beat Chris Jericho in the main event. This went two full segments and included numerous nearfalls. Swagger won with his gutwrench powerbomb finisher. After the match, Swagger and Zeb Colter posed to close the show.

Jericho tweeted about the match after the TV taping: "Had a great match in Ft. Wayne (with) Jack Swagger for this week's Smackdown! Hard hitting, fast paced, and stiff…worth checking out!"

After Smackdown went off the air, Orton, Sheamus, and Ryback sent the crowd home happy by taking out The Shield.
