A top-ranking member of WWE's Creative team has left the company after one year, according to former WWE writer Court Bauer on Twitter.

"This just in: Eric Pankowski is out as SVP of Creative at WWE," tweeted Bauer.

Pankowski was hired by WWE in February 2012, which drew press from Variety because Pankowski is a former Warner Bros. executive.

Pankowski was charged with "TV Creative development," specifically developing new programs aimed at kids, which led to the creation of Saturday Morning Slam.

Pankowski was also hired to "manage WWE's Creative writing teams" under the supervision of executive Stephanie McMahon.

"Eric is a creative veteran whose knowledge and experience will be a tremendous asset in both the creation of new WWE content as well as enhancing our core product," said Stephanie McMahon in February 2012.

At the time of Pankowski's hire, WWE was pushing the launch of WWE Network by the end of 2012, which prompted questions of whether Pankowski would oversee the Creative aspect of the Network. Flash-forward 13 months later and WWE has decided not to put a timetable on when the potential Network will launch.
