- A match being considered for WWE's TLC PPV in December is C.M. Punk vs. Mick Foley. (Wrestling Observer.) Why It's Possible: The TLC PPV is set for the Barclays Center in Foley's home New York market, and Foley began a program with Punk last week on Raw. It would also bridge the gap from TLC to the next PPV, Royal Rumble. Punk would face one WWE Legend, Foley, before facing another Legend, The Rock.
- WWE and Edge (Adam Copeland) continue to have a strained relationship after Edge turned down another Legends contract at the Smackdown TV taping last month in Philadelphia where Edge made a surprise return. (PWInsider.com.) One contributor to Edge not signing a deal is he reportedly wants more flexibility to take bookings without worrying about WWE's approval.
- The issue of WWE in a tug-of-war with a former top talent also applies to Chris Jericho. WWE wants to be able to book Jericho during Jericho's downtime while touring with "Fozzy," but Jericho wants more control over his professional schedule. (Wrestling Observer.)
Jericho stressed in media interviews before, during, and after his most-recent WWE run that he does not view himself as a wrestler who does music on the side, but an artist who does both music and wrestling. It's contributed to a break down in talks, but doesn't mean Jericho will never return to WWE. Jericho dismissed the idea of him "never going back to WWE" on Twitter Wednesday night, saying, "Wow, that's news to me."
- Another break down in the company/talent relationship appears to have contributed to Kelly Kelly parting ways with WWE last week. Kelly took the high-road in her Twitter comments last week when she said it was time to move on after six good years with WWE, but other issues appear to be contributors.
Namely, Kelly was used less frequently as WWE began de-emphasizing the women's division this year, she was dealing with an accumulation of injuries from wrestling, and she wanted to be able to pursue professional opportunities on her own while working for WWE. (Wrestling Observer.) Again, the issue of control between WWE and an independent contractor talent appears to have created a rift. In this case, it led to WWE and Kelly parting ways.
