WWE Raw on Monday, June 25 scored a 3.28 rating, down from last week's seasonal high of a 3.42 rating, but above the three-hour Raw's 3.24 rating two weeks ago.

Raw averaged 4.71 million viewers, down five percent from last week's strong viewership of nearly five million viewers. Raw averaged 4.59 million first hour viewers, then increased five percent to 4.84 million second hour viewers for the portion of the show book-ended by John Cena's "announcement" and Cena vs. Chris Jericho.

Removing the last two weeks of strong Raw performances, Monday's show would have delivered the most first hour, second hour, and overall viewers since April when Brock Lesnar was the centerpiece of Raw.

-- On cable TV Monday night, Raw trailed "Pawn Stars" on History Channel in total viewers, but was #1 in key male demos. Among males 18-49, Raw was #1 in the 9:00 p.m. EST hour and #2 in the 10:00 p.m. hour behind Pawn Stars.

-- In the week-to-week demos, Raw was down one-tenth to two-tenths of a rating in the adult male demos compared to last week. There was a big drop-off among teen males - nearly six-tenths of a rating in males 12-17 - as that audience continues to fluctuate week-to-week.

-- One year ago this week, Raw was down to a 3.13 rating, but averaged 4.94 million viewers. This year's Raw was up and down compared to last year's Raw.

Caldwell's Analysis: Solid showing this week considering where Raw was prior to the surge the previous two weeks. The noticeable second hour increase in viewership was also a good sign this week. Whether it's the removal of John Laurinaitis as authority figure, return of Chris Jericho, anticipation for Brock Lesnar's return, John Cena in a TV main event, or some other factors, WWE retained a healthy portion of the audience this week.

As for the significant drop-off in teen male viewers, which came the same week John Cena irresponsibly claimed nine-year-olds make up most of the audience, if there is a sustained drop-off the next few weeks, then there may be something to Cena's comment affecting teen viewership. However, the m12-17 and m12-34 demos have fluctuated week-to-week throughout this year, so a pattern is almost non-existent.
