WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross covered several WWE subjects Wednesday afternoon during his weekly Yahoo Sports Radio appearance on 1560 The Game in Houston during the college football season. The following are highlights.

-- On his segment with Mark Henry on Monday's Raw, Ross comically said, "I thought I was in the filming of a prison movie scene." He added, "It was a little freakish." As part of Henry's storyline finally capturing the World Title after 15 years, Ross talked about Henry's background dating back to the mid-1990s when WWE signed him to a ten-year deal.

"And the fact that we gave him a ten-year contract for a guy who had never gone through training, got a lot of consternation from some of the locker room people," Ross said. "Some of those things were conveniently left out for storyline purposes."

-- Regarding Jerry Lawler's status after taking a World's Strongest Slam from Henry during the segment, Ross said, "I think he's a little sore. I don't know that he'll be at work on Monday. There's no way to take a landing on a wooden table."

-- Ross was asked by 1560 host Sean Pendergast if he believes titles have changed hands too frequently, playing into the Night of Champions PPV theme on Sunday. Ross replied, "I think they (title changes) are arguably too frequent and people have a hard time keeping up with the players," Ross said before complementing Raw on a relatively strong performance Monday night against strong cable TV competition.

"We assume everyone watches every week, but I think we are so immersed in our genre that we believe everyone is as engaged to it. So, I think the title changes coming so frequently disconnects some," Ross said before noting WWE has to continue to reconnect with the audience. "I'm a little old school, but I think the slower build, the more tenure, the more deeper the roots can go in a championship reign, the better off you are."

-- Regarding Matt Hardy's situation, Ross called it "really heartbreaking," and noted WWE has a plan for "alumni" to get proper treatment. "So, Matt, from what I understand, has spoken about taking advantage of a three-month, in-patient rehabilitation program. If that is true, that is a good first step in getting his life back on track," Ross said.

Ross added that Hardy and anyone else interested in Hardy doesn't need to be concerned about whether Hardy will return to WWE if he gets his life back together. "It's not about going back on the road, wrestling, or performing in front of the fans, but living a long, healthy life. If I were him, or asked, I would say, 'Focus on one thing right now and immerse yourself in your rehabilitation and get healthy.'"

-- In the second-half of the interview, Ross covered pertinent college football topics including Oklahoma's win over Florida St. on Saturday that he attended, OU's upcoming game vs. Missouri this weekend, Conference Realignment Chaos, and the latest on his BBQ products.
