Concerning the preliminary Money in the Bank PPV buyrate, we inaccurately reported 276,000 buys from WWE's monthly business figures on Thursday. Although WWE's chart plots MITB at just under the 300,000 buy hashmark, the actual estimate is closer to 185,000 buys.

The reported figure of 276,000 buys includes prior period buys. Despite including prior period buys unrelated to MITB, WWE plotted this figure for the MITB PPV on their chart showing each PPV's performance over the past three years.




In the second quarter earnings call earlier this month, WWE management said MITB buys would be up 20 percent compared to last year's event. Last year's event drew 165,000 buys, which would make for 198,000 buys this year, according to WWE's statement.

The preliminary MITB buy total reported by WWE this week is through July 31, which is two weeks after the PPV aired. The preliminary estimate includes a split of 71 percent domestic and 29 percent international.

As a result, buys from international sources will likely trickle in over the next two months to bring the total closer to 200,000. WWE will report an official figure when they report third quarter earnings in November.
