MSNBC's political talk shows today featured two separate discussions on the heated Linda McMahon vs. Richard Blumenthal debate yesterday, with most of the discussion focused on the WWE topics that came up due to Linda McMahon's background as the former CEO.

During the "Hardball" show, Chris Mathews concluded he wouldn't vote for either candidate after he focused on two separate point/counterpoints during the debate.

"Talk about lack of shame. These people are a piece of work," he said in-between derisive laughter after a clip of McMahon and Blumenthal discussing McMahon's WWE background.

The following is a break down of the discussion on the "Dylan Ratigan Show," which precedes "Hardball" with Chris Mathews.

Dylan Ratigan Show on MSNBC

Dylan Ratigan: "It was so contentious moderators had to repeatedly step in to control the crowd's booing and hissing. Here's why."

They aired a clip from the debate with a quote from Blumenthal: "She requires all wrestlers to sign a death clause that absolves WWE of all responsibility if wrestlers are killed in the ring and if the company is at fault... There have been seven dead wrestlers since she started campaigning for this office and I would advise some other policy might be advisable."

Analyst: "She can't even say that steroids are harmful to your health because of legal liabilities. She's kind of boxed in... They're not letting people anywhere near the campaign. It's hard to take it into the realm of policy when she's already made a mockery of her own campaign."

"Hardball" with Chris Mathews

Blumenthal Clip: "My opponent has not only marketed sex and violence to children, but she actually paid hundreds of millions of dollars to lobby in Washington against penalties for sex and violence marketing to children."

Linda Clip: "I think it's insulting to the millions of people who watch WWE every week and are entertained by it to suggest it's less than quality entertainment." (laughter in crowd, Linda breaks a grin). She then touts the Health & Wellness policy.

Blumenthal said that Wellness Policy is not working too well. "There have been seven dead wrestlers since she started campaigning for this office."

Chris Matthews jumped in: "What a choice! Where do you go to vote elsewhere? Can we vote for Chris Dodd. Talk about quality sex and violence (laughs). Talk about lack of shame. These people are a piece of work."

Analyst #1: "There are major questions about the way she's run her firm and I didn't think that was out of bounds."

Analyst #2: "Yes, she is a terrible person in terms of a person who ought to be running government. Obviously her previous history gives her no right to assert that, but he cannot get away from the burdens he has. He should be selling his career as a prosecutor."

Videos: The first video below (starting at 6:30) is the "Hardball" discussion of the McMahon-Blumenthal debate. The second debate is Chris Mathews referencing Jesse Ventura's interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" where Ventura said he would not vote for McMahon because she's not running as an independent.
