WWE wrestler Matt Hardy says he is still under contract with WWE, but he doesn't feel working for WWE is where he should be right now.

"I don't exactly know what my future holds. I am still underneath a WWE contract right now as we speak. Do I think WWE is the place for me to be right now? Honestly, I don't think it is. I think it's time for me to move onto the next chapter in my life," Hardy said in a YouTube video blog.

"The WWE lifestyle is so crazy and so hectic and so frantic that if you don't give it your entire life, sometimes it doesn't pan out," he said. "Working 250 to 270 days per year between wrestling and traveling has taken its toll on me."

Hardy said he's working on outside projects and hasn't been contacted by TNA, Ring of Honor, or any other organization to know if there's interest in him outside of WWE.

"Who knows where I'll end up, but I promise you this that Matt Hardy isn't going away and Matt Hardy is very, very driven," he said. "There's a lot of things I want to do in life."

Caldwell's Analysis: This was good to hear from Hardy acknowledging there's more to life than just being a wrestler or working for WWE. Hardy became too wrapped up in being "Matt Hardy, wrestler" trying to achieve some elusive fallacy of a "WWE dream" when it was obvious he needed time at home to heal and rest and just not be on the grind when he was having a tough time keeping up. This story is also another indictment of WWE's schedule. Vince McMahon's entire life is WWE, but that doesn't mean it should be the same for the wrestlers on the roster. There has to be a systematic change to the lifestyle so that wrestlers don't inevitably break down and get so wrapped up in being a wrestler that they lose sight of life's priorities.
