WWE wrestler John Cena discussed a potential WrestleMania match with The Undertaker, future stars in WWE, the Super Cena character, and other WWE topics in an interview with Kevin Eck of the Baltimore Sun conducted Monday before Raw.

Eck brought up the "one big money match on the table" of Cena vs. The Undertaker at WrestleMania, leading to Cena talking in-character and tongue-in-cheek about the possibility of facing Taker at an upcoming WrestleMania.

"Ah man, don't say that," he joked. "He's got a pretty good record at WrestleMania. I know everyone would like to see that one, but don't pen me in for a loss in that one. He's pretty undefeated. And beat some damn good talent at WrestleMania. If I get a chance of heart come January - that's usually where people grow a set and challenge him - maybe, but it's well known through the locker room you stay away from Undertaker when it gets close to WrestleMania."

Also in the interview, Cena was asked to name who he views as current stars that could be top-of-the-card acts long-term in WWE. Cena unflinchingly said The Miz is his #1 pick.

"I have to include Sheamus in that group. The Miz would be my #1 and Sheamus my #2 in terms of understanding the process we do here," Cena said. "Miz has re-focused his efforts and I think he is going to be a mega-star. Sheamus already is. He already has such an understanding of what we do in such a short amount of time, it baffles my mind."

Cena was asked about criticism of the Super Cena character, especially Cena's character seemingly "impervious to pain" or having non-believable recovery power in the context of a wrestling show. Asked specifically if he believes the criticism is valid, Cena replied, "Absolutely not."

"Those fans that go to that extent to criticize a WWE Superstar's ability," Cena said before pausing to laugh to himself, "keep in mind this is an entity in which we run on the ropes when someone throws you into the ropes. There is a lot of stuff that happens for the sake of entertainment. I certainly respect and read criticism; I don't understand it."

Caldwell's Analysis: Obviously, there's suspension of disbelief based on a history of certain aspects of pro wrestling being accepted that you never would see in an actual fight or competition. There are just certain things like taking a DDT on a concrete floor, then recovering to score a decision over two men that are beyond the realm of believability in the "universe" or "playing field" that WWE has created.
