-- USA Today has published an additional story on WWE Studios's strategy shift to family-oriented dramas/comedies with WWE wrestlers in limited, supporting roles.

The story includes quotes from Triple H, Big Show, and John Cena promoting their respective WWE Studios movies due out over the next five months, starting with John Cena's "Legendary" movie this Friday. The following are highlights from the quotes in the story.

-- Big Show: "I'm not your leading-man type. If I had Rock's smile, I'd rule the world. Those guys (professional actors) are a different entity." (Big Show's "Knucklehead" is due out October 22.)

-- Triple H: "At first, we were trying to do big action films, stereotypically what people thought we should do. WWE Films is now taking a completely different approach. We're just trying to make good films with good stories. They don't have to have anything to do with action. Some of them don't have much to do with our performance, really."

(Hunter's "The Chaperone" is due out in February 2011. The picture below shows Hunter in-character holding a teddy bear during a scene from the movie to get an idea of the movie's "family comedy/drama" theme.)




-- Triple H also commented on the "That's What I Am" (f/k/a "Big Red") movie featuring Randy Orton due out next year. Hunter said Orton will only have a few scenes in the movie.

"The film is in no way about him," he said. "But it's a good story, and it has great actors. Over the next few years as they come out, I think people are going to be surprised at the content of our films."

-- WWE wrestler Kofi Kingston was on the local ABC affiliate in Baltimore's "Good Morning Maryland" TV show this morning promoting the Smackdown TV taping tonight.

Kingston hit the usual WWE talking points during the interview and promoted the TV taping main event of Kane vs. The Undertaker.
