USA Network issued a press release today formally announcing the 900th episode of WWE Raw this coming Monday from Boston. The release notes stars from Raw, Smackdown, and NXT will be on the show.

The press release also includes the usual items on Raw being the "longest-running weekly prime time episodic series in television history" and also makes some interesting notes trying to capture Raw's longevity dating back to January 1993.

-- "With its blend of humor, action and drama, Monday Night Raw continues to appeal to a variety of demographics generation after generation."

-- "37% of Raw's viewers are female and Raw is a Top 5 ad-supported cable program among Females 12-34."

-- "Raw is the birthplace of such household names as The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, John Cena, Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels."

-- "A pop culture phenomenon, Raw has been a destination for actors, athletes and musicians not only to promote projects but to also enjoy ringside excitement as fans. Donald Trump, Shaquille O'Neal, LeBron James, Ashton Kutcher, Jewel, Jeremy Piven, and Rob Reiner have all appeared on Raw."

Caldwell's Analysis: It's always interesting to see what information - from a variety of information available - is included in a WWE-related press release. The inclusion of the female make-up of the audience is obviously intended to reach potential ad buyers or decision-makers in the TV industry that Raw doesn't just appeal to males in a tight demographic window.

It's also interesting to see which "household names" USA Network included, with John Cena being the only star who got his start in the last ten years. Also, it's interesting to see which celebrities they included, with Donald Trump topping the list. Included were a billionaire, two pro athletes, two male actors, a female singer, and a movie producer (aiming for Hollywood).
