Former WWE CEO Linda McMahon appeared on CNBC's "Kudlow Report" last night to discuss political topics in the news, briefly touch on her WWE background, and promote her U.S. Senate campaign in Connecticut after receiving the Republican nomination.

The standard "WWE discussion" included CNBC host Lawrence Kudlow reading comments from Democratic opponents last week blasting WWE's TV programming. McMahon offered a standard response that WWE programming is seen by over 15 million viewers each week, the product has evolved to PG-TV programming, and the people she meets on the street enjoy taking their kids to WWE events.

Kudlow, satisfied, moved on to other topics related to the political climate in Washington, D.C. and whether McMahon could affect politics. Earlier in the interview, McMahon was asked about current economic conditions and she presented her fiscally-conservative viewpoint on less government intervention and more incentives for small business.

At the end of the interview, Kudlow asked McMahon for her view on the controversial topic of whether New York City should approve the building of an Islamic mosque at Ground Zero in New York City. McMahon qualified her response by saying she is a proponent of freedom of religion, but "for me, my reaction is it just kind of rubs salt in the wound."

Kudlow firmly replied, "So, you're opposed to it?" McMahon responded, "I'm opposed to the construction of the proposed site because I think that just rubs salt in the wound from 9/11."

Caldwell's Analysis: I'll look at the all-important "does she seem to know what she's talking about?" factor from the interview, which many voters base their opinions on. McMahon scored an "A" on the business and economic discussion for coming across like she has a firm position and a plan. She scored a "C" on the WWE TV discussion for using the same "straight from the corporate website" rhetoric while failing to address a direct question. (Kudlow scores an "I" for not asking about the more-important health & wellness issue.) She scored a "C" for how she delivered a response to the question on whether it's acceptable to build a mosque at Ground Zero in New York. She waffled when asked the question initially and slightly improved when she was given a second chance on a follow-up question.
