First Update - 4:25 p.m.

In the first update today on the Republican primary election in Connecticut, news across the state is that very low voter turnout could affect races, including former WWE CEO Linda McMahon competing against Republican candidates Rob Simmons and Peter Schiff.

The Hartford Courant reports some precincts were reporting as low as 13 percent voter turnout as of 4:00 p.m. EST. "Turnout is extremely low in many places across the state as voters are on vacation during some of the most important primaries in decades," the Courant's frontpage reads.

McMahon's campaign recently launched a mass campaign trying to reach voters to encourage them to actually vote. McMahon said in a recent interview her main concern with the primary race today would be low voter turnout.

Official results have not been released yet on how the Republican Senate race voting is shaking out yet. We'll continue to update this tonight as results are announced.
