Bill Goldberg expanded on his current mindset of being open to the idea of a return match for WWE in an interview with the Boston Herald promoting the debut of his "Garage Mahal" show on DIY tonight.

"With Twitter and all the social media, the whole world knows I’ve been discussing merchandising with the WWE," Goldberg said. "I'm 43 years old and I always try to keep in the best shape possible. But would I step into the ring for one more match? I’m not going to say no."

Goldberg added, "If the right deal comes in front of me, I’m not going to say no. Is it possible if all the stars align? Why not?"

Goldberg also gave a babyface shout-out to wrestling fans after many fans soured on him after Goldberg said in past interviews that wrestling was "just a business opportunity" for him.

"Wrestling fans are rabid, and they’re a group of people I don’t ever want to turn my back on," Goldberg said. "They're the ones that put me in the position I’m in today."

Goldberg expressed similar views on a potential return match in an ESPN interview we covered yesterday. On jrsbarbq.com, Jim Ross commented on Goldberg's statements and the prospects of Goldberg's potential return match at WrestleMania 27 in Atlanta next year.

"It is still all speculation but Goldberg going into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011 and then having a 'retirement match' seems like a viable idea to me. I know that I would want to see Bill Goldberg's last match on PPV," Ross said. "Again, this is pure speculation but it makes for interesting discussion. Goldberg is a 'jock' at heart and stays in good shape which would allow him to pull off a solid bout in the Georgia Dome."
