In the last stretch of media hype leading up to WrestleMania 26, Shawn Michaels continues to make it sound like his match with The Undertaker on Sunday will be his final WWE match.

In an interview with Kevin Eck of the Baltimore Sun, Michaels said he's concerned about living up to fan expectations, he doesn't want to be the classic wrestler who stays around too long in the business, and he wants to be a good husband & father not robbing his family of his time.

"It's like a guy on a wire; for the first time he looks down and he realizes he's on a wire," Michaels said. "All these years I've been going along and I've never really looked down from the wire. And then you wonder, 'Well, if I slip, will they catch me or will they watch me fall?'

"I've got an opportunity that most people don't get - to go out with my head held high and be able to hear, 'He didn't stay around too long.' That's important to me, and I'd like to do that before I slip on that wire."

Michaels also talked about his Christian beliefs changing his priorities to put his faith and family ahead of his career, which amounts to more hints that he could be ready to walk away from an active WWE wrestling career after Sunday.

"Seeing something that was more important than you and more important than wrestling and more important than having to leave something when you didn't want to. And then the stakes got upped with the birth of our son," Michaels said about changing his philosophy on what was important to him in life. "That slowly led to my salvation, and that's the ultimate to where you find out that it isn't all about you. (Wrestling's) not the end all, be all anymore. It's important that my wife and children get the man that they bargained for."

Caldwell's Analysis: Most people reading Michaels's interviews this week either from the original media source or on the Torch analyzing what he's putting out there are probably already buying WrestleMania 26. But, if there are people sitting on the fence whether to order the PPV, Michaels sure is doing a convincing job that Sunday night will be his final WWE match and you don't want to miss this...unless the quotes are a set up for the huge surprise of Michaels actually winning on Sunday. It would be one of the best WWE sales pitches ever for Michaels to hype the end of his career, only to win the match. Regardless of who wins on Sunday, as Michaels has said consistently, it will be a memorable moment in wrestling history.
