WWE announcer Jim Ross gave an evaluation of the TNA product on jrsbarbq.com this morning, with a suggestion that TNA and Spike TV might want to consider moving Impact to 8:00 p.m. EST with a one-hour lead-in prior to WWE Raw at 9:00 p.m. EST.

"I think that TNA has a lot of work to do before they can begin to find the success that they need and want. Perhaps starting an hour before Raw might help them," Ross said in his Q&A section. "Obviously producing an alternative product is imperative. Their replay on Thursdays isn't a bad idea but Spike really needs to commit with promotional time to give their wrestling product a fighting chance."

Caldwell's Analysis: Brian Hoops and I talked about this issue on the PWTorch Livecast yesterday, as it looks like a mistake for both hours of Impact to go head-to-head with WWE Raw without that lead-in before Raw comes on the air, which their January 4 show benefited from. We'll continue to see how the ratings shake out after the first two weeks in the permanent timeslot, but high on the list of potential changes to help TNA on Monday nights is moving up an hour rather than trying to compete straight-up head-to-head.
