WWE announcer Jim Ross posted his Super Bowl Sunday blog on jrsbarbq.com talking Saints vs. Colts, Jack Brisco's funeral on Thursday, UFC 109 last night, and a few wrestling subjects.

-- Ross talked more about Jack Brisco's funeral on Thursday, including a mention of Hulk Hogan possibly attending the service in Tampa, Fla. Ross said earlier this week he expects Ric Flair to attend. Hogan talked highly of Jack Brisco during his RVD Radio appearance this week, including sharing a story on Brisco giving him his first pair of wrestling boots.

"One can expect a slew of wrestling people to attend the Thursday services of Jack Brisco in Tampa," Ross said on his blog. "Jack helped many, many individuals get their foot in the door in the business, including Hulk Hogan who one would assume would be attending the service, and many others that Jack helped get booked in either Florida or Atlanta. We are going to 'celebrate' Jack's amazing life and I am excited about the opportunity to speak about what Jack Brisco meant to a fellow Oklahoman, country boy also with Native American blood who was passionate to a fault about pro wrestling."

-- Ross responded to a question on the backstage atmosphere in WWE when they finally beat WCW Nitro in the Monday night ratings battle after taking it on the chin for one-and-a-half-years.

"I don't recall any one having a celebration, celebrations are unfortunately rare in most wrestling circles, and it was essentially business as usual. We thought that we had been producing better Monday night shows for a good while even though the ratings indicated otherwise for 83 weeks," he said. "I never got too euphoric for the great ratings or too low on the bad numbers because when there is no season and one is doing live TV 51 weeks a year there is simply no time to "bask" in any glory or to feel sorry for one's self when the ratings aren't what one wants."

-- Ross took a shot at the NFL trying to market the "Who Dat?" slogan by saying wrestling fans in Louisiana were chanting that at the Junkyard Dog in Bill Watts's territory 30 years ago.

"BTW...New Orleans folks were yelling "Who Dat" at the Junkyard Dog about 30 years ago so, again, the NFL attempting to claim ownership of that saying is bogus. The NFL needs to focus on making sure that we have football in 2011 and not fixate on t-shirt sales."
